Absolutely fed up with Jelavic, so weak in holding possession and goes down like a sack of ****.

Have been disappointed with Mirallas so far, as I thought he was in for a massive year and was pretty poor the first few games.
But last night I could tell he loves the club even more now, hunting down David Luiz and John Terry with pace when asked to lead the line. Brilliant.
Held the ball up better than Jelavic did, and was a threat. Made up with his performance.

Well ive had time to reflect on the game, watch highlights after seeing the game on TV and yeah, we did ride our luck at times and on another day we could of lost by 3 but that typical EVERTON spirit, not Moyesy spirit, saw us through and we got a very good win and we cant under estimate what an effect it is going to have on the squad in the coming weeks!.

It was a big effort from us all and we dug in deep and confidence will be oozing after that result. I think when we add Lukaku to the starting line up, we will look even more dangerous as a side and i think we wont do too bad this season!. Really liking the options that weve got amongst the squad these days and once we do fully click in the Martinez ways, im certain we'll be a very good side!.

Got to kick on next week and beat West Ham though!.

Barry is better than Fellaini, mccarthy is better than osman, lukaku is better than jelavic and martinez is better than moyes. So in theory we should do much better this year. Yesterday was great ive always found it hard to accept everton giving the ball away so much so this new style is refreshing. It feels like we are controlling the game and dictating the pace unlike under moyes where we let other teams control us, certainly the better teams. Long live Roberto!

Jelavic 'knock back'. I said this yesterday: wasn't it more a goal attempt?

Pretty similar to his effort against United at OT two years ago.

I think he's a striker and instinctively went for the finish, tbh.

Not for me, he had to really crane his neck to get to the ball & it was slightly behind him, so he was never going to get the power on it to put it past Cech, he's deliberately pushed that into Naismith's path imo.

On the United one he's met it on the full.

It's an assist which contributed to our first win. That will do for me Dave

Oh aye.

It just looked like a facsimile of the set up for his United goal...far post chip; headed back and over the GK; Naismith where Fellaini was. Thought it warranted the comparison.

Hopefully this was a knock back rather than a poor choice to go for goal.

had tickets but fate meant I couldn't travel this week but watching from afar at 1 a.m. and listening to the Old Lady rock warmed the cockles. Big kudos to the crowd, that was mighty. One can only imagine what Barry must have thought knowing 'that' was behind him and now he's part of it, no wonder he could barely contain his happiness walking off the pitch at the end of the game

He got a song on his debut. That's how good he was!

Was not impressed with him at all yesterday. Good header for the goal of course, but he gets outmuscled by everyone, seems to panic on the ball and can't hold it up to save his life.

Whatever he did when he first arrived, it's becoming apparent it was a clear and utter fluke

He didnt though did he?

He was just pissed that his side didnt put away the plethora of chances they had.

Nothing wrong with that. Lets not go crazy here. We deserved something for our efforts but could hardly say we were all over them. They had enough chances to win it three times over.

Last year you could say the same for us. Evened itself out anyway, not that I particularly care, when you spend as much as Chelsea you'll take any win against them. You don't want a complimentary Mourinho, same as you never wanted a complimentary Ferguson - the greatest victory was ruffling their feathers.

No mention of how well we had played and fought though. Even Fergie (in his later years at least) would praise us for our performances after beating his team.
