Does anyone else think Martinez will be at a loss as to why a very good defensive unit has suddenly started leaking goals and making daft errors nearly every game?

Its baffling me, It's not like he's brought in 1-2 new defenders and introduced them into the back four, Its the same tried and trusted defence that has been solid for a long time, We have the same two DM's in front of them and we play the same way as last season, If anything you would think the defence would have struggled in the first season Martinez was in charge when he had them passing out from the back

imagine if this had been his first season lol he'd be getting crucified..

i'm holding onto the fact that its early season and things will sort themselves out, thats all can hope for realy as there arent really any other viable alternatives

Other teams know how to play us now and the surprise factor has gone.
We play so much in our own half with a slow tempo and have come predictable.
I think yesterday showed how slow we are moving the ball around, I think that was down to Mirallas not playing. That Bolasie had us all game.

Martinez is fine, it's just a shame he had so much faith in Jagielka and Distin and decided they didn't need any further competition for their places pre-season.

He's got us playing fantastic attacking football with a relatively young set of players, just needs to sort out the damn defence. I hope this is the final season of Jagielka and Distin both playing 30+ games, and sincerely hope Osman disappears into the wilderness at the end of this campaign.

We've only been outplayed once this year, and even so we could have had some points in that game with better luck.
Everton has beaten Everton not the other teams. The tactics are fine for mine, as we've been scoring plenty of goals at the other end. Its just we've been culpable of moronic behaviour and brainfarts .

In my opinion we need more killer passes and less tippy tappy between the back four and McCarthy/Barry. Generally goes something like this...

Jagielka to Baines, to Jagielka to McCarthy, to Barry, to McCarthy, to Jagielka, to Distin, to Barry to Coleman, to Jagielka to Baines, to Jagielka, out for a throw.

Yet we took Arsenal (and Man U) apart at goodison last season...we changed the orchestration effortlessly. But now it seems we are having to relearn basic rhythm...it is odd how we have gone backwards so quickly. I can even trace it back to the end of last season (the Palace game). But I am damned if I can source the blight. Nor am I paid 1000s of pounds a week to deduce the cause. All I am asking is that personnel appointed (and paid handsomely) to do so, do so.

Arsenal/West Brom/Wolfsburg didn't know how to play against us it would seem, Not sure what you mean to be honest, Can only remember Chelsea really out performing us, Palace done the exact same thing to us last season

We are pretty slow tbf, but once Barkey comes back that changes things. Mirallas, Barkley, Lukaku all rapid with the ball. Come back soon, Ross. Shalom.

You want him to change the mentality of a squad in one year when Moyes had 11 years at the club, We have to many players who bottle it and hide from the fight when teams bully us
Yes. I have gone into companies and changed their modus operandi (operationally, strategically, pyschologically and philosophically)in 12 months...and I damned well expect a football manager on 3-4 million pounds a year to do like-wise.

Have you ever managed a premier league football team mate?

The thing is though we aren't really in a hugely bad position. Only three points behind City, two behind Spurs, one behind the RS, and on the same number as United. String some wins together and we'll surge up the table. Only 5 games in with plenty of football to play too.
