We are just three players away from having a decent side. All we need to do is keep our best players and then spend a minimum of 45 million pound on the three new players so that they can replace the three players that aren't good enough, and then we might become capable of beating a team in the top half. We are so close.

Our corners were painful to watch. Along with many crosses tonight we had no loft on the ball, everything short and low. And Barry was a lamp post on their goal and almost removed a shirt on another corner. Too much standing still. I don't remember it being that difficult to stay goal side on a corner. The game was decided by corners in the end.

Didn't see the whole game but it looked as though Barry had an absolute shocker. His marking was awful for their goal and gave the ball away countless times. Will take a draw vs. Palace any day but the lack of wins is just so frustrating.

Deulofeu was bad, good, brilliant, poor, excellent and knackered in that order.

Corners- defending and attacking have been absolutely woeful all season.

Cleverly fighting for a place with his performance tonight, unlucky not to score with that volley.

Lack of subs killed us, fresh legs around 70 mins for Kone would have helped so much.

Haven't seen they highlights and the park end is too far from the street end so can't fully comment on if the goal was Howard's fault or not.

Coleman had his best defencive game for us.

John Stones

And finally big Rom, 50 goals in 100 appearances. But some people will never like him cos they expect messi for £28mil.

Very solid game and very unlucky not to take all three points.

Martienz does seem far too stingy with the subs though, could have done with Mirallas or Lennon.

CP will be the happy with the point and we did expect a strong drilled side. Hopefully baines will be able to help us turn these draws into wins.

lollollol

So which three players 'aren't good enough'?

.....we could so improve if we were effectively coached on defending set pieces. It's apparent to me that we are not.
All work in the air from corners is poor, both defending and attacking.
This was a problem last season and hasnt been addressed and could be the difefrence between a cup and nothing
A good defensive coach is needed, names on a postcard

After seeing the pressure we applied and chances we created against a very good and well drilled palace side, there isn't a team in the country who is going to relish coming to Goodison any time soon, or indeed will be happy to be playing us, contrast that to how teams must have felt playing against us last season or early this one it maybe will add perspective on just how much we have improved, never felt more confident about a season after a home draw and 'dropped points'.

Said the same thing every season practically - but we really need to try to bring in at least one quality player this January - far too often in the past we haven't and we've missed the chance that's on offer, this season is the same - there's a genuine chance for a team who really wants it to get top 4

I thought we played well and ive just seen 1 of the best saves ive ever seen from the cleverly shot. I'm quite impressed by the response on this thread as well.most people can see were playing some great stuff but just letting ourselves down slightly defensively.
I can't wait for the next game to see more of the same

more of the same eh, MORE defensive frailty...sorry couldn't resist it
