The laws of the universe dictate that if Everton have an opportunity to make a statement in the league we'll always pass it up. Honestly with the quality in this team we could be walking off with the top 4 but as usual Everton choke whenever we're close to achieving anything of note. It's happened for decades and will happen again this season. It's not Martinez and it wasn't Moyes it's just Everton.

Great game, some great attacking play from us again and a great advert for the PL. Now watch the medja ignore it while they continue to jizz over Klopp and obsess over the Sky 4.

It's like a race against time. If we don't do something with the quality we have this season, I just expect the team to be decimated when the transfer window opens.

Choked at Bournemouth and couldn't force an outcome tonight. Not denying we played well but it just never happens for Everyon does it, ever. Struggling to think of many times in recent history where we've turned the screw on other teams in the league. Every single season numerous numerous opportunities are presented to us yet we barely ever grasp it. So many draws, so many 'almosts', but it never happens.

Very good game. Obviously unlucky not to score more than 1 but a terrible goal to concede.

It's our defence that will cost us CL this season. Going forward we look as dangerous as anyone.

....as daft as it sounds, I'm still not convinced we work on our defence, especially from set pieces. It's almost as if the players are left to sort things out.

Palace reminded me a bit of us under Moyes. And I mean that respectfully despite my disliking of the ginger one. Quite a workmanlike team from an attacking perspective, built around 2-3 quality players. Defend well, good on set plays and can play too.
