Great game and we showed some real quality going forward. The two Rom strikes that hit the bar would've been contenders for goal of the season.

We didn't even defend badly, just switched off from a set-piece (again!!!).

Overall, fair result when you think how well Palace defended. They're a very good side and proved it tonight, and we were unlucky.

Howard - 6 - Pulled off some good saves but is hapless at crosses. Not at fault for their goal, though.
Coleman - 7 - Got forward really well and had Puncheon in his pocket in the first half.
Stones - 8 - He's ridiculously good. Majestic.
Funes-Mori - 6 - Some really good interceptions but at the same time dived in a bit too early at times.
Galloway - 6 - Another solid display, though struggled to cope with Bolasie in the first half (who wouldn't, though).
Cleverley - 7 - Put in some really good tackles and got forward at any given chance - probably cost us when they broke away a few times.
Barry - 6 - Not his best game and switched off for their goal. Solid enough but obviously missed the protection of McCarthy alongside him.
Deulofeu - 7 - Frustrating and then showed some truly world-class pieces of skill.
Barkley - 7 - Good overall display and capped it off with a brilliant pass to tee up Del for our goal.
Kone - 6 - Should have done better when he got into the box but didn't play badly. Would consider going with Clevs/Kev there next week...
Lukaku - 8 - Two fantastic efforts that he was desperately unlucky with, and got in the right place to get the goal.

Baines - 6 - Did as well as we could expect.

Martinez - 6 - Wish he'd have brought Mirallas on for Kone. But then again we were on top and a change could've unsettled us.

Our inability to deliver consistently good corners is costing us points. This has been glaringly obvious all season and an issue which has still not been addressed.

Despite dominating games and creating chances, sometimes you need a set piece goal to win a game.

Id agree with you mate if this was a one off but I feel like I've watched this game about 100 times. Everyone in the whole stadium knew as soon as Rons shot hit the post that we weren't getting 3 points. Call it negative or whatever you want but it's just the same old story always with Everton, the glorious almost nearlys.
I genuinely feel we are turning the 'Everton, that' corner. Apart from defending set pieces (Roberto, PLEASE sort this out), this team we have is getting better and better. And what attractive football we play...proper football.
