What selection would you have done?

Barring in mind Danjuma has had 45 mins of pre-season so, we'll assume the lad wasn't fit enough to go past 20/30?

Go on.
I would have started Sean Dyche over Maupay as the forward

Have we ever won a match he started up top? Maybe 1?

Its embarrassing how bad he is and how toothless we are when he pkays

First game, first loss, first home defeat, first bizarrely disallowed goal.

Add to our total inability to score even open goals, we really did showcase what it is to be Everton today.

My personal boycott 2 years ago looking a sound decision. I'm always laughed at by the lemmings on here just sleepwalking into the abyss but I actually enjoyed my Saturday, you whinged like arl women about this joke of a "club" x

Just not good enough. Couldn’t have asked for an easier fixture to start the season and we are in a position where we have to put out a starting 11 like that.

Same old everton. Accepting mediocrity would be a step up atm. Business as usual.

I didn't see the game but I got the impression we battered Fulham but just couldn't put any of the many chances away. If that's the case surely we just need a couple of decent strikers?
Yes.

Should have been 4-0 up at half time. Maupay shows his complete lack of ability and confidence and Doucoure shows his completely lack of technical ability and intelligence.

I'd probably be looking to offload Onana asap if I was Thelwell as he's our only asset and we need multiple attacking players brought in to have a fighting chance this season. Sad but if the money isn't there at the moment it might be the only chance we've got.

I'd be doing the opposite mate. He's out one real (outfield) asset at this point. Every other club in the world knows we're in dire straits financially right now. They could probably low-ball us and our spineless 'leaders' would likely accept.

Another year of financial prudence and (if) he improves as a player, we'd be in a far stronger position to demand top-whack for him.

We're creating chances, but we're flaccid. Hopefully that'll be fixed before the window 'slams shut'.

*Why don't Sky ever close windows properly, eh?

A defeat that teaches us absolutely nothing we did not know already.

Dyche is able to set the team up to put them in a position to win games - almost regardless of who is on the pitch. But the players currently available to us are simply not of high enough quality to regularly execute the plan and win games.

If we're not able to put out a team stronger than this, we will be right in the mix.
But add 2-3 better players in and you feel we could be comfortbaly midtable.
That makes me feel better.
