Gutted blues , but.. Still we march on and fight.

I did meet contract Dave in the line for a beer though 😁 he was with his lad.

I asked, why did he leave us for utd , he rubbed his fingers together basically meaning more money .

Was proper sound tbh , he thinks we will be ok. I also asked what he though of Dom, and he basically said he thinks its a mental thing what's going on.

Didn't know he was manc, well.. he sounded manc. I also told him from all of us on GOT, we will miss his face during transfer windows, he laughed. Sound bloke 👌

We might at least have a decent shot at winning the Papa John's Cup next season and that would certainly be another exciting and famous Everton First.

The first half hour was poor, the next 20 minutes were really quite good and the last 40 minutes were absolutely horrendous. As I said about Leeds against Palace last week, once we conceded the second goal, heads dropped and we went to pieces, this was very worrying. It looks like we will finish the weekend out of the bottom 3, so at least our fate will be in our own hands, but, there is a lot of work for Dyche to do because that second half was unacceptable. I went for McNeill as MOTM , but, really the bar was set very low.

Would Simms or Patterson have changed the result? Doubt it.

Our best spell was first half/we didn't improve with them on the pitch.

It's why I think the problem is deeper than "Dyche got it wrong today"
Maybe not, however it's not unfair to surmise that they may have performed better than Godfrey at RB and Maupay. The setup was undoubtedly wrong.

I felt Maupay had a bit of a thankless task as our approach was not much more than hoof it up to a five-foot something, and expecting it to stick. It didn't.

Yet, equally he didn't appear too fussed until they tackled him, which brought out his inner snide. Simms would have offered a larger target man and more pace.

Godfrey at RB, partnered with Mykolenko on the other side of the pitch, meant that we were offering little to nothing out wide, with no chance of an overlap.

Sounded better in your head didn't it.

Poor for most of the first half until we dropped Gray back into a 5. That second half was Silva completely outthinking Dyche who simply kept playing the same which is very worrying, simple doubling-up on our full backs and quick switching of play and we looked all over the place. Onana was a massive miss as is Doucoure but leaving Maupey isolated again for over 70 minutes and pumping long balls for their 7ft centre backs to just mop up when we needed goals and some sort of hold in the game was absolutely mental.

The game where we most needed to produce one of our better performances we contrive to put in the worst since Dyche got here.

It looks like Dean Smith is the man most likely who will save us from the championship through his shizzle management

I know i have said this a few times over the past few years. But when tom davies is one of your "creative" options to change from the bench you may aswell just chuck it in.
There is just nothing there. Bit of sweat and graft maybe. But we are so poor and so paper thin.

If we aren't down by the last game, then it'll be a miracle. If a win is needed to stay up it'll be sod's law and go and do it.
Add that to the other last day shenanigans of Wimbledon and Coventry (and Palace last year although not strictly last day).
The last 2 games have been beyond woeful, I think we still need 6-9 points, I just don`t see where they come from.... forget any wins away, we don`t do that and our last 3 at home is City, Newcastle and Bournemouth, we arent winning 2 of them. 4-6 points at the very best, has anyone ever stayed up on 31-33 points?

What a bizarre set up from the start.

To play Maupay was crazy.

I thought Garner was one of the few who at least showed something and a desire to get the ball.

That second half was embarrassing. Game we probably had to win too. Shame we didn't score a second in the first half as we probably would have won comfortably
