The only hope we have at Europe is if we win every game and Chelsea only win 1 and draw 1..so in other words SEASON OVER! I hope this means more youngsters in. Like to see Duffy, Vellios, Barkley, and Baxter getting more playing time now.

would be nice to see them but this is moyes we are talking about, so its Hibbo,Neville,Osman, even McFadden will get a run

Yes, I believe so.

To be honest, I don't want Europe. I want us to be free of distractions so that we actually start a season properly.

we didnt get at them enough after the goal to win it imo (if they scored that is) , but we lost momentum with that mistake , maybe without it we could have held out for 1-0 ?

And if Carroll scored his sitter, itd be 1.1 before the mistake so its ifs and maybes.

But the fact remains we didnt trouble the keeper or attacked well if at all. Players panicked, hoofed, were combative enough in that 2nd half.

One team was gonna win that, and it wasn't us.

i can only think of my miscarriage which hurt more than this, this is too much to take. All i can say is at least i'm not a scouser, i wouldn't be able to carry on if i had to go to work/school with those around me, hats off to the brave souls on here. I can't see us winning a trophy for a long long while, lets hope i get to properly celebrate one in my lifetime, 1995 was a bit too early for me, NSNO - that show wasn't worthy of our great club's slogan

no he didnt, drenthe is one of our best and he could have changed the game from the bench, ala bellamy. Cant say anything yet because we dont know why he wasnt playing

I would not have started with Drenthe, he is too emotional right now and Gueye had earned the starting place, why he was not even on the bench is crazy - the same with Barkley. Moyes played the starting 11 that I would have picked, but failed to come up with a plan B as usual.

If the Gibson - Fellaini midfield is going to work even better, we need pace and skill on the wings, something that Pienaar, Drenthe and Barkley have.

It wasn't even offside. The defender used the leg which was keeping Jelavic onside to kick the ball, and fell over.

I can understand Moyes wanting Cahill still on the pitch but disrupting the Fellaini -Gibson base to the midfield to move two players into positions they are much less effective in just to keep that possible goal threat was a major error on Moyes' part. Especially as Liverpool were obviously dominating in the air anyway. Like I said Ossie should have replaced Cahill there to take advantage of the space that was available with them pressing higher with Anichebe being our only real option to take a wing berth. (Coleman replacing Gueye was a no brainer.) I don't want Moyes out however much it hurts right now to have been beaten but he wasn't bold enough, made a bad call and it cost us. That is his portion of the blame.

Love Moyes, its a tough league without money and he's pretty much remade us with a zero net transfer budget. That being said Ossie should sue him for negligence. I mean there is a reason in spite of all the injuries last season he saved the season last year. I realize it was a big game so Cahill pretty much has to play but not giving Ossie more chances behind the striker is criminal. When Ossie plays the wing we have no width as he has to cut inside to be effective, plus he has to run more to get back to his wing position defensively.

I mostly blame the players for this crap of a performance, but I still want Moyes to go at the end of the season. We need new ideas and a more positive game plan instead of the usual "let's prevent them from scoring and if we are lucky we might score" it never works, but gets used all the time with Moyes.

agreed totally, never have i bashed moyes until the last derby when that team was ridiculous, i wudnt be suprised if that game put it into the minds of the squad that we can't live with these, when in all honestly we can all so easily

This was our moment, we are the better side, but yet again we bottled it. And don't blame Distin, we weren't that comfortable all match tbh.

agreed , it is what it is . a 2-1 loss . a few of my kopite mates have mentioned that they expected us too attack more with there 3rd choice keeper. in hindsight we didnt really trouble him at all did we ?

I feel we offered more going forward, when it was 0-0 and just after 1-0. After that, bottled, nothing.
