I've said it before and I'll say it again: we will win nothing under Moyes. He does not have the mentally that will win us a trophy. Especially in knock out competitions.

No risk, no reward. Moyes will simply never take a risk and the worst thing happened by us going in front. Just as it did in Moyes's last biggest game (the Chelsea final) we sat back and got what we deserved: nothing.

Another disappointing season now already over. Even finishing above the ****e is no consolation to losing to them 3 ****ing times.

Unfortunately a lot have which is very sad to see, Distin's Higgs Boson like mistake turned the game. Simple as that.

Distin's error is a mystery like the Higgs Boson, the Bermuda Triangle, Black Holes and UFOs.

Distin could play 1000 games and not make a mistake like that again.

It happens. That's football. It took the wind out of Everton's sails.

Up to then Everton were doing ok.

We did however miss Pienaar (and Drenthe) but if they aren't available they aren't available.

THEY WILL BURY ME A MATCH-GOIN TOFF' ... - Simple as that.

We came out for the 2nd half half asleep. We could have and should have been 1-0 down before Distin's mistake.

Distin's mistake changed the game.

Like I said. It was unexplainable. He could play 1000 games and not make a mistake like that.

How could we have been 1-0 down when we were already winning 1-0 ???

Yes. Exactly.

I don't think any other manager, nor anyone on here would've done anything different today. I really think all this "get a new man in" is daft. Just saying. It's ok to hurt after losing you know, without constanty wanting repercussion

well TBH, no-one has suggested that they aren't "down with" being a proud Evertonian

there's a thread about a complete overhaul of the majority of the more experienced playing staff
(unworkable idea and probably more damaging I admit)

there's posts about how Moyesie probably isn't the man to take us any further than where we are right now
(I have come to agree with this myself)

lot's of posts about how heart broken and devastated most of us are today

but I haven't read one post from anyone no longer being "proud to be blue" or no longer wishing to be an Evertonian

Really feel for Distin, I know it was his mistake that turned the game but you could see after the game how much it affected him when he went round apologising to the fans.

Sorry Matt I forgot about our goal, silly mistake, a bit like Distin's really....

But you know what I mean. We should have conceded when Carroll missed that sitter.

Does anyone really think that we will win anything under Moyes? Sad to ask this question because I know Moyes would be hurting more than anyone else today. It is just that he doesn't have what it takes to be a winner.

He is an excellent "survival" manager — but he will not win anything. His supporters will point to the huge gulf in spending power (which is true), but haven't Portsmouth won it before?

There was just too much negativity from Everton going into this game (Moyes : "Liverpool are the favourites", Round: "Liverpool have a fantastic team"). I didn't see any of the rallying calls from Everton's side. I expected Neville to come out and say "We want to win it for David Moyes on his 10th year", etc.

Everton have lost the winning mentality — and the negativity permeates from top to bottom. Changes are needed otherwise I see us slipping into obscurity.

I feel for all fellow Blues, I really do.

You get that in every game.

It took a soft pass back error that was frankly of ridiculous proportions for them to get back into the game.

It happens. Had we of had more money to spend on getting players in pre-Jan then things may of been different.

We've got A PLAYER in Jelavic. That is for sure.

However, without Pienaar and another winger we are not the Everton we know or have seen. We don't keep the ball the same.

But again. We've got A PLAYER in Jelavic. We just need to add to that.

Don't mind them saying in the press conferences that Liverpool were favourites. But I don't expect them to coach the players to act like it when they take the field of play.

Seems to me that with derbies it all revolves around hope and expectation. We go into them hoping that we will win and they go into them expecting to win (regardless of how ****e they are playing). If you look at Moyes' record against them over the last 10 years it appears that he hasn't got what it takes to change this mindset. Talking them up obviously doesn't work but it does supply him with ready made excuses when we yet again have to accept what is becoming all to inevitable when we are coming off the field with our tails between our legs having been put in our place yet again.

When you're 54 like me and have seen us get ****ted by the reds for as long as me you know when we have a chance because after 1970 more often than not we haven't (**** that starting to be ****e in the 80s lark it was before then).

We had a real shot today and we did a "Moyes" ie hide.

We will lose any toe to toe encounter with any ****er because we're not good enough to play "catenaccio".

We'll all support Everton till we die because they haven't come up with a safe drug to rid the ****ers from you're heart so bollocks to the sanctimonious flag waving by some.

Until Moyes goes mid table and hole reaming by the RS is the order of the day.

Not enough to increase season ticket sales is it?

I saw Kenwright being interviewed by ESPN before the game in his usual smug boys' pen fashion.

There was no sign of him afterwards. Of course.

Moyes's tactics today were awful, trying to defend a one goal lead, defending too deep, leaving Jelly isolated. I agree he lost the game psychologically beforehand.

Today was his failure and I just dont understand why we can play so well the last three games then revert to this dross against our biggest rivals.

But the real issue remains Kenwright who has set a yardstick of failure at every level of our club. The only criteria that matters to him is that he remains Chairman. Everton need an massive overhaul and it must start with Kenwright shipping out.

Loving your optimism Matt but we have just been bummed by the RS in front of the whole football world watching on TV. It's beyond embarrassing.

Just got in. Gutted. Had to sit in a car of the train with at least 20 singing kopites for 3 hours on the way home. Had to watch them celebrate, had to hear that noise...

Nevertheless, I stand by David Moyes. He has to take a portion of the blame for today but if Sylvain hadn't done what he did, tonight could have been very different. I respect the fact that we played in a semi final today and the achievement that is although, like you all I want so much more. We were sh*te second half today. Utter sh*te and I am sorely disappointed.
