I've seen Everton play under some of the best and worst managers around: after today's Wembley performance, where does Davey Moyes fall?

This is the worst Liverpool side for years and they've done the treble over us; sooner or later, the captain of the ship has gotta take the blame. Their third-choice goalkeeper and did we test him? And then the nail in the coffin — a goal from Carroll of all people.

I know there's no money at Goodison but if that's your only excuse then Moyes will get off scott free for life. It's time to take a punt, otherwise we're doomed for life. Kenwright ain't going anywhere and Moyes ain't good enough to take Everton any further.

WE'RE ON THE MARCH WITH MOYSEY'S ARMY? — not anymore, we're not — unless you're happy being the perennial losers. If this club doesn't change soon... were doomed!

Well, I've gotta go cos I'm getting messages from Reds from all angles and I ain't got no answers....

Not the worst but nowhere near the best. Remember Billy Liar a few weeks back elevating him into the Kendall/Catterick category "one of the three best managers we've had"?

I'd have Joe Royle back tomorrow. I'm not kidding either. Moyesy is a bog standard, uninspiring 'regimental sergeant major' type who squeezes quantity out of his players and hasn't got a clue what to do with quicksilver talent like Rooney, Barkley or Drenthe. I hate to keep banging on about Big Joe all the time, but he'd have had Royston and Barkley on that pitch today at some stage - probnably both at the same time. Ditto Howard.

The feller isn't cut out for this great club. Cometh the hour, cometh the man...Moyes was a no-show...again.

Jelavic is obviously looking like a good buy but I'm not liking his play acting. Sure there's a lot of them in the Premier League (Suarez, Nani etc etc) but It's not the Everton way behaving like that.

what makes you say that ?

OK We had a bad game
But it,s 2 or 3 in 20.
We have on the whole been playing well and improving.
I am sure Moyes didn't send the team out to lose and sure the players didn't lose on purpose.
We are Evertonians,we should be getting behind OUR club otherwise we drop to their level.
Same faces come on here ****ging their own team and club at every little opportunity.
We are Everton,we are a proper club with proper supporters I say we act that way

We have played some of our best footy without Drenthe and Barkley. As much as I want to agree with you. Today was about individual mistakes.

If were not under pressure constantly the chances of lapses in concentration at the back are reduced markedly. Play our best players, get them chasing back to their box and let them worry about us.

Oh for a time when we had leaders who thought that way!!

Go to the In/out thread Davek, i just said you were 100% correct about today....

just ended up on Harry Catterick's wikipedia entry

was thinking about former Everton players as managers

our most successful managers have been of course former blues,
then I thought most have them would have won the leauge as a player with Everton

Kendall did, Joe Royle did, but I wasn't sure if Catterick did so had to check wiki, he didn't

but wiki did say this about Catterick's management of Everton
"Catterick upheld Everton's tradition of cultured, attacking football"

and I felt that needed posting
