Right, I'm drunk so this'll be a rant.

Today was magnificent. Until 13.30. We f*cking sh*t it second half. Bottled it. I'm sorry but the only thing I can see is we changed from going at them to sitting deep and backing off. That MUST be Moyes telling them to "protect" the lead.

How many times have we seen it? Why do Everton never go for the second goal when it really matters?

Those utter f*cking no marks were there for the taking today and we choked. The f*cking tw*ts. All that effort Blues made to get to the game, by hook or by crook and they let us down.

There's no way back from this. Moyes CANNOT beat Liverpool when it's there for the taking. That isn't good enough. Thanks for all your work Davey and for what you've done for the club but doing well on a small budget isn't enough for me. It's not enough for Everton. We want shiny f*cking pots and parades and honours.

Sorry, I'm hammered.

Koff Ebepton. Koff Moyes.

I love Everton.

Ffs kev

you make sense when you're drunk chum

David Moyes has only won 4 derbies out of 22.

The money quote of the entire thread.

Spot on mate. There's a lot on here who just don't get understand! Plenty of lightweights & out of towners who think they know what it means to be a blue. They don't!

Careful there son. Don't want to go down that road. You really don't.

Hard luck Everton, I hope you manage to win a trophy next season, you deserve it.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere today. Great banter on the way up to Wembley and no aggro whatsoever in the stadium; I didn't hear any of the distasteful chants that I've heard at Anfield and Goodison in recent years which is great. All of the blues I encountered seemed to have taken the defeat very graciously. I was disappointed to see some of our fans uttering needless taunts on Wembley way after the match but otherwise it was the friendliest Merseyside derby I've ever attended and it was an absolute privilege.

Distin's mistake killed you, I felt you were more than comfortable up to that point.

Commiserations guys.

We can look back at other matches or other derbies and say we deserved something out of it.

Not today. Not anywhere close. Liverpool deserved that win. They did what they had to do. We didn't.

Did they really bum us though?

Yes. In the 2nd half, it was pretty much all Liverpool. So much so that we ALL knew they'd get the 2nd after the Distin mistake. Every. Single. One. Of. Us.

Wish I could be mate but I'm sick at how predictable today really was.

Were Everton. We should be winning stuff.

It was predictable wasn't it?

Just got back...

...First off, minute of silence went well - other than one person who shouted something - but i think about a quarter of everton fans shushed him.

Jelavic goal was one of the best celebrations! Wasnt expecting him to score that to be honest, as in all the other matches when he has had similar chances he always goes wide!!

When we got to half time at 1-0 i was so confident, i thought Moyes was going to sort our players out - tell them to act like we are still at 0-0 and we need a goal. But we came out and just sat back, and had very few chances.

There are a few things im disappointed about, the fact Drenthe wasnt on the bench, the fact it took till the 86th minute (?) to bring on another striker. The thing im most disappointed about is the lack of balls we got into the box, and the lack of shots we had. From the crosses we did have, you saw the keeper struggled - he never really got a strong punch the entire game, and we never took advantage.

Gutted for Everton, and gutted for Distin - he isnt the first to do something like that, remember Jagielka Vs Aston Villa? To be honest i dont think that can be an excuse anyway - because at 1-1 we should have done much better too.

Oh and also, Coleman was silly giving away that freekick - and from where i was sitting it looked like he was lucky not to be booked again

Was quite funny on the way home, on the train - and there were some liverpool fans - stereotypical fans! Foreign and were reading The Sun - obviously know nothing about Liverpool FC other than how many trophies they have won

Well it's taken this to happen for me to make my first post...

A relative youngster in relation to the majority on this forum as I've only supported the club since 2007 but like most, I am absolutely distraught.

I walked around Melbourne for an hour to find a place that was showing the game and letting people in. Finally found a pub full of arrogant kopites and half a handful of Blues and nestled in.

Admittedly in the week preceding the game, I didn't share the optimism of some - Queue storylines "Worst liverpool team in years" "KD to be sacked if loses derby" "Everton in sublime form" "Moyes chance at cup glory in 10th year in charge" "Unbeaten with Gibson" - it just all seemed a bit fishy to me. How I wished I'd been wrong. I'd contemplated putting a few on the shi*e to soften the blow but I didn't have enough $0's at the end of my balance for this to be viable.

I can't bring myself to dissect the game, it hurts too much to think of the What if's.

When the whistle blew, I promptly grabbed my jacket and left the bar, on the way out shaking hands with a couple gracious kopites, and copping it from a few others, got in the 1st cab and headed home for a restless night, knowing it was only going to get worse in the morning.

I've been up for about 4 hours and have probably uttered as many words. I haven't had the energy to tell the story about the scouser I'd run into on the way to the bar who'd been drinking since 4am yesterday morning (kick off at 9:30pm) in the same pursuit as I was saying he'd literally kill someone if he didn't see the game or my trek around Melbourne city to find this place down a dark alley.

I support a lot of teams through a number of sports - being a kiwi I've put up with 20 years of heartbreak at the All Blacks being unable to bring home the World Cup until last year, but I don't think anything has hurt as much as this.

This is the worst hangover I've ever had...and I didn't even drink last night.

Those saying WE GOT BUMMED .

We NEVER ..

Really .

We didnt play great but considering the diff in outlay We WERE AHEAD , relatively speaking .

UP UNTIL Distin's error Suarez was his USUAL Cheating Frustrated Self . Then .. Seconds later , Hes a Player ..

Last 15 iT WAS ALL THEM but before that ??? Has Me La EVER HAD a quieter Derby ???

Evertonians CAN BITCH btw ,...

Damon ; IM WITH YOU , Lad ...

Still think Distin is our best player for the season he has made 1 mistake but after all he is human im not angry at him just disappointed with the tactics that was employed for the 2nd half sitting deep and trying to hang on should not be contemplated as a tactic we should of gone for them and kept pressing them like in the first half we had them by the proverbial balls and bottled it

This was our chance and I don't think I'll ever be as optimistic about us winning something like I was yesterday, at least not under moyes. This defeat signifies the end of an era and I feel sorry for Neville cos he has worked 10 times harder for everton than he did in his entire team at man utd and he has nothing to show for it.

We lack balls when we need them and we lack intelligence cos these days you need to work smarter rather than harder most of the times and you win. If moyes is that good then I'd like to see a firm approach for him just so we really know if other chairmen rate him at all.

Does anyone really think that we will win anything under Moyes? Sad to ask this question because I know Moyes would be hurting more than anyone else today. It is just that he doesn't have what it takes to be a winner.

He is an excellent "survival" manager — but he will not win anything. His supporters will point to the huge gulf in spending power (which is true), but haven't Portsmouth won it before?

There was just too much negativity from Everton going into this game (Moyes : "Liverpool are the favourites", Round: "Liverpool have a fantastic team"). I didn't see any of the rallying calls from Everton's side. I expected Neville to come out and say "We want to win it for David Moyes on his 10th year", etc.

Everton have lost the winning mentality — and the negativity permeates from top to bottom. Changes are needed otherwise I see us slipping into obscurity.

I feel for all fellow Blues, I really do.

FFS I can't sleep. I had cleared space at work to fly to London the week of the 5th and thought when we were 1-0 up I was actually going to get a chance to see us win something.

Its hard to say. All trophies have been pretty much a closed shop for the big spenders and now they pretty much take them all seriously now. Pompey has got an FA cup. Spurs and Boro have got a Carling and that is about it. We've shown up for big games under Moyes as the last final run we had under him we went through Man Utd, Villa and Liverpool. We've also been unlucky (Fiorentina, Villareal). Plus for a club that isn't Liverpool, Chelsea, Arse and Man Utd, finishing 4th is pretty much the equlivanent of winning something.

Granted there are some things that Moyes does that drives me mad (the way Ossie gets used for one, subs another), he's a very very good manager. His ablility to find good players under 6M is unrivaled in the prem. So is his ability to get the most out of players who for one reason or another couldn't cut it at other clubs.

This one hurts because we've played well all year with a lead. Even when we've been battered with a lead we've still managed to hold on in previous matches. I don't there is anything you can do as manager when one of your best players makes a mistake. [Actual conversation at the pub at halftime with a blue: Dude says: I would have started Jags today. Me: you can't bench Distin he's a rock and won't let us down]. Carroll was getting shots but Gerrard was neutralized by Fellani, Gibson and Suarez was getting frustated. I don't know what Drenthe did but it wouldn't suprise me if it was something so stupid that it warrented not being on the bench it wouldn't be very suprising.

moyes told players to sit deep and soak up the pressure, did you see how isolated jelavic was in second half.moyes plays like this evertime he plays against the so called better teams, thats why his record is **** against them.
