You get that in every game.

It took a soft pass back error that was frankly of ridiculous proportions for them to get back into the game.

It happens. Had we of had more money to spend on getting players in pre-Jan then things may of been different.

We've got A PLAYER in Jelavic. That is for sure.

However, without Pienaar and another winger we are not the Everton we know or have seen. We don't keep the ball the same.

But again. We've got A PLAYER in Jelavic. We just need to add to that.

Strewth! A player in Jelavic. Well, that's a start i guess. We've also got players in Baines, Jagielka, Osman, Heitinga, and, dare i say it, Distin. But if you're still unprepared to apportion any blame to Moyes for that performance then you're surely looking through rose-coloured spectacles.

Did they really bum us though?

I think they didn't get back into the game until that freak back pass. Until then they were typical RS. Huff and puff nowhere.

Again we just need to add to the quality we have. Hopefully without - creative ball keeping - people being fecking CUP TIED next time round.

And ensuring everythings in place - EARLY DOORS.

Next time could be a long way off, that's the trouble. How many shots do you think we'll get at this? RS Huff and Puff? No, they played the ball on the ground instead of HOOF!!!, all through the match. They looked more dangerous for the entire game, and created attacking chances, except for their back four, which we failed to exploit.

You're missing the obvious point that it was Everton that would have gone onto compete in the next season's EC...English teams were peppering the winners enclosure of that tournament for years and we'd have been a major favourite to lift it either that year or the following ones. That would have propelled a club like ours into the stratosphere. To compare the effect on us with Arsenal or United is ludicrous...of course we were effected more.

Ignoring the obvious ie being favourite isn't ACTUALLY WINNING IT.

Why is comparison with other teams dealing with EXACTLY the same rules ludicrous? Please justify.

As I said selling top players give us an advantage, IF we made best use of our resources.

Results prove otherwise, whereas others did, in particular Arsenal and Utd among others.

Canvas and rope.

Yes Jelavic is a player.

And you're over egging the RS performance. Their fans on this thread even said they were no where until the Distin error let the m back in.

Those saying WE GOT BUMMED .

We NEVER ..

Really .

We didnt play great but considering the diff in outlay We WERE AHEAD , relatively speaking .

UP UNTIL Distin's error Suarez was his USUAL Cheating Frustrated Self . Then .. Seconds later , Hes a Player ..

Last 15 iT WAS ALL THEM but before that ??? Has Me La EVER HAD a quieter Derby ???

Evertonians CAN BITCH btw ,...

Damon ; IM WITH YOU , Lad ...

Agreed. I'm with you too.

Had we had our proper BALL players on the pitch (Pienaar cup tied; Drenthe wtf?) then things would have been different second half.

Ours just seemed to forget how to put a foot on the ball and control it and frustrate them RS. Pass pass pass pass pass etc.

Pienaar can do that but stupid clot got himself cup tied.

Our board not doing business EARLIER is a major cause.

But we'll be back.

I said it all in my earlier post, something happened at half time, that could only be Moyes telling the team to stay deep and protect the lead. The first half we could and should have dissected them. We didn't! Moyes out and Kenwright out.

Ive had this opinion for months, I even posted in another thread that even if he won the cup he should go

Still gutted but not goin to fume like after the 3-0 humiliation at analfield.

Because they were nowhere near at the level of Everton at that stage to take advantage of top class European competitions. It isn't rocket science mate. If you dont see that we were the most inconvenienced of all clubs by that ban there really isn't an awful lot more to say on the subject.

total agreement here

To sum up the game, we had one real chance which was gifted to us. They had alot of chances, our defence looked open and we looked threatened by their pace. We held them as much as possible, but they missed some sitters and good chances - Carrol missed about 3 chances which should have been goals i think?

We were lucky not to lose 4-1. In a way, it would have been better if they had scored some of them chances in the early stages of the match, atleast we would have been fighting for the result rather than just accepting pressure and then hoofing the ball up to Fellaini.

Heysel is an easy target - it was the same for everyone - being at the top of the tree we were better placed than most.
The theory we lost players to euro footballing clubs hence our demise ignores what we did with the incoming transfer fees.
A very camp excuse for those who ream holes.

You've got to be RS

Guys

We are all missing the point here. In fact we should all be relieved.

Although our illustious DM blames the mistake and not negative play etc

Distan did not make a mistake because according to Bainsey and T Howard - the pitch was "sticky. Yep, you got it right - sticky!!!

And according to Timmy Cahill - Liverpool wont win the final.

So that's alright then - lets forget it all and move on

Bollocks.....

So if they weren't near our level, what happened to put them above us???

Did they not buy and sell players in that period?

Could it be they just did it better?

WTF is there not to get about this?

What MIGHT have happened without the ban has no bearing on what actually happened with the ban.

Our american cousins would call the Heysel excuse a "crock of sh1t"
