Ah okay, I forgot that wanting my team to win suggested smugness. Did you want us to win today?

Yes. But like a good number of others, the loss today is barely a blip on the emotional scale.
As I've said before, no one on here was cheering City's goals strictly in the context of us losing the game, but the holier-than-thous seem to forget what impact helping the Turds win the title would have on us -- the club and the supporters -- in the long run.
Be content you wanted Everton to win. In your insular world, that's all that matters. However, even though I live thousands of miles away from Merseyside, I can still appreciate the bigger picture and what the ramifications might have been (and what still might be if City don't take care of business). Doesn't make me or anyone else who feels the same way any less of a Blue.

at the start of the day, if someone would have said we would lose, but so would spurs and united, a lot of us would have accepted that, i believe. 4th was over imo, arsenal wouldn't have slipped up, so all but securing 5th with those results was the best outcome, so can't be too downhearted at our defeat at the end of the day.

not sure why a few on here are saying they feel "if we really wanted to win that, we could have", the players gave their all, our fans shouldn't be doubting the integrity of us like that. virtually all of them have no affiliation to liverpool as they are purely an employee at Everton fc, really shouldn't be talking about our players in that way.

I've actually sent a email to Sky's broadcasting complaints about Tyler's commentary. I've never officially complained about anything before that's how annoyed I am at his disgusting commentary today.

so did i mate. wrote a massive long rambling letter about how poor he was and how i won't be buying sky because of him and all the poor rs "pundits" who have no knowledge.

i didn't even watch the game on a SKY stream, haha, just went off what others were saying on here.

...the reds facebook followers have been dreadful the last few months, way beyond banter in their patronising put down of Everton. Pity they haven't had the same quality as their team. Since Chelsea, they've been quiet and today they wanted us to pull out the stops. They can still win the league, but there's not many fans from other clubs who will want that to happen. Deluded, selective memory mixed with a paranoia with us and United.

It was a good game. Some good goals, some poor defending. The better side over 90 minutes won, but we were never out of it.

Glad its over though.

+ 1,000,000. Disgraceful. At least Red Nev is growing on me

May I ask what address you sent it to mate?

I feel like writing a fuming email too.

This is clearly where we differ greatly, this game wasn't dead-weight, there was still a feint chance we could grab a champions league spot. You wouldn't put it past Arsenal to have a mini-blip. You try and justify you wanting Everton to lose in any way that helps you sleep at night, at the end of the day you care more about your hate of other clubs than your affinity to our club. As someone who lives in Liverpool, I do understand the smugness if they had won the league but it doesn't affect us as a club if they do. I want us to do as well as we can, get as many points as we can and to support our team regardless of how it affects other clubs. As I said, I don't think it was the majority of fans who wanted City to win and I wouldn't expect it to be either.

A few in the Gwladys were having a cheer when City scored, but as opposed to them getting moaned, at, they did the moaning, just came across a blue then, who 'just came from the match', who swore no cheering happened at all.

For the rest of it, the fans were great, helped in no part by Spurs and United slipping up, now we just need a favour from Arsenal, as if they win the Cup, we automatically make it through to the group stages.
