City are some team, think they might actually be the best side we have seen since the Premier League started and we were totally outclassed today. Need to produce some sort of performance next week though as that lot aren't at the same level as City so we need to at least try.

Today was like the death of Everton.

A soulless, passionless performance on the pitch and a resigned acceptance off it.

There was barely a boo at half time.

I left in disgust with five minutes to go so I don’t know if there was any reaction at the final whistle.

No wonder the club are panicking and chasing up those existing STH whom have not renewed yet.

I have renewed already but I can see my daughter getting more use out of it next season than me if this seemingly relentless drift continues unabated.
There was no booing at all at the end, although many had left. One unusual thing was the amount of applause from the remaining Everton fans when the City players left the field. Appreciation of a great team performance I guess.

One of the lads taking the mick in the pub, said that the match was unfair because the Everton defenders couldn’t run as fast as the City attackers. Unfortunately he was spot on.......their third goal especially had three attackers all outsprinting our defence.....

Goodison has been a graveyard for us for many years, but I was quite optimistic leading up to the game. The first half was great football from my POV. Some of the best we've played all season.

Our first goal that Silva hooked back for Sane's volley was top drawer. Had Bolasie scored to equalise it may of been a closer game, but everyone watching could see we always had an extra gear if needed. At 3-0 we took out foot off the gas, obviously saving energy for Wednesday. I'm happy tonight:dance:

Along with many others I stayed behind at the end and applauded City off (as well as the blues, obviously), but only Kompany acknowledged it - pretty classless, in my opinion. Kompany is a top bloke all round, so am not surprised at his reaction. As for the others...

Use better not bottle it over the two legs against them.

Just don't get knocked out by those flag waving whoppers.

TBH I really don't know what to think about today. The atmosphere in the lower street end was good enough before the game and until it got to 2-0 our fans got behind the team. I haven't been the match in a while and I found there to be a strange atmosphere amongst our fans. Some seem to have just given up and accepted this rubbish, some are extremely angry. There were a group of fans arguing in the toilets at half time about whether fans were being negative or not, considering we were 3- 0 down at home at half time, I don't know what there is to be positive about? There were fans leaving 30 minutes into the game, fans leaving at at 2-0. Yes City are a good team, but really only Pickford, Jags, Baines, Coleman, and Tosun really put in any real effort. I heard fans debating whether they were going to renew their season tickets, which I never heard in the past.

Abject surrender.
There were no 'tactics' worthy of that description evident today, just some outdated zonal defence method which effectively surrendered the initiative and the game the moment the ref blew the whistle.
We are currently dead in the water, a championship quality side from the boardroom down masquerading as a top league side. Better teams than us will be relegated this season and far better promoted.
This is not Everton it's a sad facsimile.
And I'm beginning not to care.
