We struggle badly with teams that press that much is obvious we are desperate for more energy in midfield in fact pace across the team.

Dreadful spineless performance with maybe 3 players trying :-( First haldf when they were kicking the crap out of James and Richarlison, a proper captain would have been in giving it loads to ref, so to push him towards our team butColeman again proved his a coward ;-( Even the header for goal was so weak from Pickford :-( We've lost 5 points out of 6 the last 2 games so really ALL the team should be fined for unacceptable performances this week to show them its dreadful

I think we can see we are still quite far from being top 4. Newcastle dealt with our tactics fairly easy today as it was very predictable. We actually need a much stronger squad to deal with off form players like Richarlison and a DCL that doesn't get the service. That Wilson showed the all round skills of a striker. He lost our defenders every time, made space and was a threat from the first whistle. I really hope we get someone before the deadline and pray Allan is fit soon.
I noticed and was expecting it that Digne and Coleman made us porous at the back again so when we decide to go for more attacking options we still haven't been able to plug the space left behind us. Holgate and Godfrey are more solid defensively but lack going forward. Presently I would rather stay solid

Why did we not concentrate on complaining to the ref about the constant bad fouling by Newcastle, we need to be more cynical
Shelvey and Lascelles should have been red carded, we need to be more vocal and demonstrative
Mina had like four open headed chance i the box at the start aswell like he didn't give a bollox aswell just unintelligently through his head at it.

Ref was a joke, but once they started booting the shoite out of us then the brave lads in blue went missing as usual - Coleman is finished, but as skipper could have rallied us and got I their faces - didn't happen.

Sigfraud was back to his atrocious worst - Tom Davies should have started ahead of him (and should always imo).

Pickford was more bothered about clogger Hendrick on the corner than to watch his positioning when Wilson heads it - should have been dropped after Leicester.

Lastly, wtf was our bench about - sorry Carlo, there has to be some options from the U23s that can take the place of a second keeper and leaving a seat?!

Plus, we could see it wasn't working so why not try something else with flash, or bring just god Benfrey on and push digne into midfield?

Top 4 is potentially still there, but our brave boys in blue don't want it enough sadly.

We’re crap. Crap tactics, slowest squad in the league, no strikers, no wingers, boring to watch....
Mina to Digne, instead of going forward he plays it back to Mina, across to Keggers, then to Coleman, back to Mina.. Sig comes short for a one two back to Yerry even though he has no one near him, back to Keggers.. hoof
Thats most of our time in possession, pointless possession.
But is the issue thats what they are being instructed to do from the training ground.. or are our attackers (aside from James) never showing short or making runs in behind? I rarely see Dom taking the ball in and holding it up for our midfield and fullbacks to get up the pitch, he did at the start of the season but he seems so obsessed with the 'be more like Inzaghi' advice and his great start goals wise has actually taken away an important part of his game in being a workhorse all over the oppos half.
Points win prizes, i get that, but i think unless we change quickly they'll dry up.

People keep going on about today's bench. I am talking about our squads man for man.

Given the amount of money spent, we should be able to compete.

When you spend money on absolute DROSS you won't compete, simple. I'm talking about the likes of Sigurdsson, Gomes, Bolasie, Besic, Tosun...The list goes on.

Very rarely turn up against these. Fk knows why but im not overly surprised. Even on their poor run i thought this was a banana skin just because it was them and how we usualy perform against them.
Depressing.
