Big mistake was to make so many unforced changes. Only a couple came out of tonight with any credit. Holgate tried hard and always made himself available for a pass. Williams seemed solid, won most everything in the air. Gana was our MOTM by a street, never stopped trying. The rest? Poor at best. Geri's final ball was continuously awful. Coleman could not beat their full back. Mori was lost. Barkley had a nightmare game, always wanting an extra touch. Valencia had an awful game. I can't recall him beating his man at all. Cleverley and Lennon anonymous. A very bad day at the office.

Yeah, it's the 6th game of the season, with an international break round the corner. Is it too much to expect the first team to play an extra league cup fixture? Instead we've fallen foul again and now have realistically one opportunity to end the trophy drought.

but it wasn't for a lack of trying or due to the team picked - really.

we created a lot, but the players we had on the pitch (namely Del and Barkley) didn't finish them.

I think that's why Koeman isn't concerned.

Yeh, it's crap that we've gone out but it happens. Definite hand ball on the line went agains us as well - but that's the way it crumbles...

Any mask slipping yet mate?

Kept that feckin mask on for 3 years too long.... Wow was I vindicated though after seemingly creating the single largest thread known to man since the dawn of the internet forum.

Eventually though it just became page after page of me just being so remarkably right, that I began to use it as a form of perverted self engraciating "I was right" pornography. It was all fun and games at first, but soon i became a full blown addict to my "rightness", my greatest moment of essentially just having a really accurate hunch about something. That's when I started missing work and rent payments, just to have "one more read" of all the pages of utter "i was rightness"...

Today, I shan't reveal my hunches about Koeman for fear that another such exhibition might just be the thing that eventually causes my head to literally explode from hyperinflation secondary to the most severe case of "I was rightitis".

Needless to say however, I am no longer wearing the mask. The mask, has finally, been set free....

I'm Fat Stan, and that was my story of being really really really [Poor language removed] right.

Play a stronger starting eleven , get a comfortable two or three goal lead then make changes . Far too many times we mess around with the team thinking it is a foregone conclusion that we will win the match .....win the game first then make changes , it's not that difficult .

What team would you have started?

Rom is injured and not being risked. Barry similarly.

Cleverley and Gueye both did fine.

We started with our first choice keeper, centre-back, right-back, playmaker and debatebly our best out and out winger.

Lennon actually created the most chances and looked much better second-half.

The only 'iffy' call for me was Funes at left-back

No. We need to focus on our target mate - which has been set by our realistic manager of finishing in the Europa League spots.

Please, don't bang on about winning the title. It isn't realistic. We just got beat by Norwich with half of our first team in the starting XI.

It is realistic. I saw it in 84/85 out of nowhere, and I will do so again.

Told yous on here at teatime that we would go out tonight, they were out for revenge after last season when they should have done us.We will never win this cup, its Kopite candy, always has been.
How bad is Valencia though?

Not a lone striker - definitely.

Would still have scored if not for that handball mind

Funi Mori ain't no full back... the change to a back three came to late. In the second half we dominated but still lacked bodies in the box. A deserved snatch and grab by Norwich..Good luck to them.

Look.

The fact is our first 11 on their day are pretty good and could well carry us to a top 6 finish this season. That is the aim.

The rest of the squad is poor , and that has to be addressed over the next 12 months. We have issues if injuries start to build up but right now let's just focus on Bournemouth and try and win every game we play in the League
