Lakakau for Kone FFS

Lukaku has been pants for the last 6 or 7 games, reputation means nothing when we are in a poor run of form. Why would anyone want to pass to Lukaku when he can't control the ball and it comes straight back. The players know it and the manager should drop him and have him in for more practice. It is on that basis I would say Koeman has lost the dressing room.

Lakaku has scored more goals this season than kone in 2 years. He needs support and service not dropping. Get real.

Lukau needs to practice controlling the football first and foremost. The ball comes to him and he can't trap so the players stop passing to him. Lukaku scoring 'more than Kone; doesn't address our poor run of form, which is also down to Lukaku who loses the ball when it comes to him.

Absolutely. So people will need patience. Something which isn't the average GOT posters skill!

Yep sadly it is. Shame that it is because we really shouldn't be in this position but it is what it is. Even I've come to the sad conclusion that my ambitions aren't gonna be fulfilled for a while.

Would be nice to see something tangible here in January tho, to at least show we have a plan. Meanwhile, Koeman does need to field a side who at least have pride in their performance. That's a bare minimum.

While he can improve with control this is in no doubt - given chances he scores goals and is currently our only consistent goal scorer. Why the hell would we also remove this.

Best part of the weekend this, straight after another Everton shoite result so we can all be as miserable as foook. Christmas is going to be so miserable with the derby being the 19th!!!

Because at the moment he offers nothing. He loses the ball and it comes straight back. This infuriates the grafters and because he doe not move the players have stopped passing to him. That is Lukaku fault. he needs a time on the sidelines.

Disagree.
At least we will have Xmas to look forward to after the most royal of royal rogering.

He'll be given the time.

They key is the windows and getting the right players in.

Spot on, that.

Plot spoiler: I'm a Moyes fan and love still the players which represented the spirit of his better teams: grit, concentration and full backs like Baines and Coleman bombing on. Previously I loved favourites like Yobo, Lescott, Unsworth and in that vein Jags has weighed in with goals, too.

But even as a big fan of those guys I don't think the existing first teamers have ever returned to pre-Martinez levels - and a re-think of the back and middle is in order. That's not criticism, just a time to look objectively at what can expected from players over time. I don't think Bolasie, Lukaku, Mirallas and Barkley are near their best either however and can show more up front. Lennon shows effort wide and tracks back.

But my big concerns are:

  1. The football
I can't see much intelligence or guile on the ball a la Arteta, Pienaar/Baines/Osman linking up. Barkley is not there yet. Koeman likes pace and wingers, fine but we're a tad predictable at present, No Siggurdson or Eriksson, Wilshere (when fit), Allen, Payet, Mahrez or other match winner in there. It's still not Ross, yet (but fingers crossed)
  2. Pressing
With Gibson/McCarthy/Besic M.I.A, and Barry getting on a wee bit we lack bite and movement in the middle, too. Gana is developing and looks to be getting more shots in. Kante is great and Gana can do that for us, but he can't do it alone.
  3. Body language
This is my major bug bear - players and Manager look too comfy today. Smacks a bit of 'this is the best we can do with this team'. Fine, some signings needed. But where's coaching Ron, encouragement and tactics?
I would dearly love to see an ex-Evertonian brought in to build on Koeman's legacy in a season or two - marching up and down the touchline in a New Stadium.

Keep the faith.

Disagree.

Unfortunately I run a pub in a small village that are all red!!!!

Get where i'm coming from, don't really think they are going to let me live down our latest mauling when it happens, and it will as none of this current team has any guts about them.
