This is what having quality in your side can do. And with Fellaini and Jelavic (amongst others), we have it. Totally made up. Sunderland were up for it today, but we bossed possession and we made our chances count. It's usually the other side that has one or two chances and make us pay.

Very pleased. Performance was decent to good, not great. Result was fantastic. The longer we hang in the top four, the more pressure we put on Spurs and Arsenal. We already put 2 more points between us and the Gunners with today's results.

COYB!!!!

Only started watching at 65 minutes (due to a **** up).

What happened to Mirallas—any idea how long he'll be out for / injured?

Pulled up holding his hamstring mate. Didn't look too serious, but they normally take a few weeks.

I'm fairly confident of Gibson being back next weekend.

That's spot on. Nearly every time the ball went down our end of the page it resulted in a near miss; I feel like they just keep backing off until the last possible moment...no other team seems to do that.

This is my main concern. Teams don't have to exactly bombard our goal in order to score. We look really shaky at the back and we're not always going to be able to do the business at the other end.

Been reading back the match thread. Concerned how many people are on Jelly's back so quickly. What is it with Everton and strikers. He'd hardly been **** since he got here.

Honestly, if we can get £5m for Heitinga, I'd bite someone's hand off. He can be good occasionally, but when he's bad (which is more often the case), he is pretty damn bad. I'd take back Joleon Lescott over him any day, as well as several other less "attractive" centre-backs in our league.

Ryan Shawcross hasn't signed a new contract yet...

Lee Mason was shocking tonight, i usually rate the pledge head aswell.

I can't even describe the noises i made after both goals, the second in particular was like the italian fella of those betting adverts mixed with a vikings testosterone before battle with a side portion of glory for added HROAR

It's not the centre-halves that are the problem. The issue is we're getting caught on the counter too quick because we're far too lightweight in the middle with the Osman/Neville combo.

We miss Gibson severely.

Completely agree with this, think this is the main prob, the amount of times the ball goes over both of their heads and then the oppo are through to the back four.......

That Forren that we're being linked with is a good player so I'd take him in January

Ta tubes. How were we for the first 65? Gash?

No not really... We were just trying to walk it in for the first half hour. When Mirallas went off you could see we lost a bit of invention and became predictable. We got stung in the dying seconds of the first half - difference between the two sides for the first hour was incisiveness in the final third but we were clearly the more fluid team.

We got lucky in the end because we simply didn't look like scoring. They played a top game plan, deep line, direct balls to the flanks and early balls in to the box. An "away team" tactic basically.

The game today was a carbon copy of about thirty or forty Arsenal games you could think of where they're fancy in possession but lose 1-0. The difference is we had the bite to turn it round.

The key part of the game was Neville going off, Fellaini dropping deep and Vellios/Jelavic going up top. You could visibly see the side more confident with Fellaini deeper and we moved 10 yards up the pitch as a unit.

Imagine watching Sunderland week in - week out though mate ? Thats one poor side.

Thay actually remind us of us early last season, they were solid in defence for awhile but just didn't have a jar going forward, they seem to be a few players away from a decent squad imo.
