People blaring Howard for the penalty are funny. Look at pretty boy Stones, taking extra touches, throwing in a feint and then finally passing, allowing Ayew to get into a position to cause problems. There is a time and place and Stones, is doing thing at the wrong time and place too often this season.

That said Everton have no drive, not closing the ball down and not making Swansea work.

howards fault. completely

slightly underhit pass that almost any keeper would have punted for a throw...at least...and then moaned a bit at stones.

absolutely bizarre lack of awareness from our keeper and decision making thats becoming par for him.

"Can't have him running the ball out and starting an attack, that's too risky." - (Carragher the Kopite, 2016, and all of the beauts who agree with him)

Better to have him play a risky backpass to a useless, unaware keeper. That's proper English defending.

Carargher was right. Stones was responsible for both Swansea goals today. Delayed his pass back to Howard and left Howard in an impossble position, and deflection beyond Howard for the second. Take the £50 million ASAP and we will immediatley see our defence improve 300%. It is Stones' ego that is faffing around. Scott Dann or Shawcross would be more effective for us. Felt sorry for Besic...he had already made an impact in the first ten mins. Mirallas had not done a lot, Geri our best wide man by far...but needs more of the ball.

Blaming our own fans for Stones being awful is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. He's a professional footballer, the crowd don't or shouldn't dictate how he plays only he and the manager do that. If he listens to the crowd then he's even more stupid than that first goal made him look.

Oh yeah mate he's a friggin robot who doesn't read the news, doesn't check the TV, doesn't know anything about the numerous pundits who slate him for being the best footballing center half in ages, doesn't hear the fans who boo him and shout at him whenever he tries to walk the ball out (because he's got no ears) and has no emotions whatsoever (only circuitry, because he's a robot)

Mate, that second line had been written about sixteen times this season already. Nothing changes, he'll cement us a mid table side very soon.

Get rid.

The next 45 mins will tell me a lot about Roberto.[/QUOTE]

It's dangerous to play like this and put all our hopes on winning the league cup. If we get knocked out of that, our season quickly turns into a total waste.
We've just lost one of our main men in Mo too by playing him today, so you'd think if we've really got an eye on it we might've rested him today.

Howard get in the bin for both goals. The second is useless, he's already fallen over before the lad hits the ball. Pathetic, and if he carries on playing him he'll cost roberto his job

You knew it was coming when we gave them a head-start.

The crowd were going to fume, our heads were going to go and they were going to gain a load of confidence. But it didn't have to happen. That's down to John Stones. There is no one that can stop him doing these things but himself. He needs to know when or not to play out or he will continue to costs us goals and points at home.

wow, that was bad.

Stones awful, not helped by boo boys at the game, but he's been poor. Howard baffled me for the pen, though. Started to come for the pass then stepped back. I genuinely am starting to despise him, which is sad.

Second goal, it's poor from Oviedo, whose been hammered all afternoon by Taylor. Would move Cleverley over there and put Del in the centre. Injuries haven't helped - Besic's energy the main miss.

The second half of that is right mate, hence the like.

Stones is solid but young, he's being thrown in the deep end without a content centre half pairing in a team that is defensively loose.

That is RM's responsibility. Everton are conceding a lot generally, much like Wigan.
