First of all, we should have won that, Lukaku can't justify missing both the penalty and the chance afterwards, he just can't. So we should be up 3-0 at least, when Niasse came on, but why did that happen.

The change at half time, with Besic coming on was spot on from Martinez, absolutely perfect. But bringing on Niasse instead of Lennon at the stage when he did.... Niasse was probably told to run around in the space behind Lukaku, but he just seemed to be like, i don't really know, and broke the shape really. Why not bring Barry on instead, and then push Barkley further up. If Barry was fit enough for the bench and the last 5-7 minutes, surely he was fit enough for the last 15 as well...

And then the goals they scored. When do they bloody learn, FFS, how many times do we have to make the same mistakes, it's been like this all season for crying out loud. I mean the first goal, Mori, don't get in front of your man like that!

I'm so disappointed and i don't even know who or what to blame, the universe, Everton, Martines, Mirallas, Lukaku, Mori and Jags or Farhad Moshiri? :(

The worst part is almost, we did so many things right, and controlled the game so well for so long, even a man down, and then just pissed it all away. Everton thank you <3
well articulated post mate. Next season we will be a LOT better...given the proviso that we have a new manager. Roberto Martinez is just not up to the task at this level. That there remain Evertonians who subsist with mentality/belief that he does, quite frankly astounds me. I am not a fan of 'the cult' vs 'the plotters' polarisation....but I am a fan of common sense.
....having said that, the next president of US is either Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton...
...I give up

Probably the best 10 man performance you could have wished for 2-0 up with 15mins to go.

Still can't quite believe it.
Yes but when we get gifted a pen where it was outside the box you should not miss them RM subs baffled me again, and it's that what cost us as they had too much room on the flanks those crosses were put in with time and ease like free kicks!!

Can't believe I'm saying this but Rom somehow cost us the match today. Maybe I'm expecting far too much but if he put those two golden chances away we would have won.

We lost.

We had 10 men.

West Ham disbanded their style of football and reverted to their roots, bringing on battering rams for the last 20 minutes.

We were the better side.

This is a nothing season for us anyway.

Grow up.

End of the day we've seen the brilliant and the bad in Martinez today. Brilliant in that we went down to 10 men and were the better team and were tearing them to shreds at times. The bad in that he doesn't know when to shut up shop and protect the hard earned lead. Shocking subs.
