So salty!

Met two Everton fans on the train back last night and they couldn’t bear to give Wolves an ounce of praise.

We’ve heard all this nonsense before lads - the foreigners won’t hack it in the Championship, they won’t like the cold, they won’t make the step up as they haven’t got PL experience. Now we’re hearing everyone tell us how it’ll be harder next season and all our best players will be off.

I had a lot of respect for Everton fans in the past but you could genuinely hear a pin drop in the home section yesterday.

Yes, you’ve been in the top flight forever - so what?! One season where you threatened the top four and absolutely jack all else to show for it.

You’re just another set of fans who don’t really understand (or want to try and ignore) what is happening at Molineux. We aren’t here to make up the numbers.

I think a small sample can't represent a fanbase. I think the pin drop is because we are literally not offering a thing at the moment and as such just aren't bothered. We will finish 7th-14th despite massive investment. Moreover if you're comparing to yourselves the novelty of being back in the big time far outweighs the monotony of premier league mediocrity.
We did make the top 4 one season and most of the others, especially under Moyes we finished top 6 consistently as well as the odd final and semi final. Do you think wolves will better that soon? I can't see it myself as the top 6 are so far removed from the rest of us and we will all make up the numbers as depressing as it is.

Yes you are...you’re presently just too deluded to realise that reality.
Let’s chat again in 3 seasons ...( if you’re still in the PL)...

This is the kind of arrogance that I can't be doing with from your fans. @Mugwump came on and had a sensible discussion, although I disagreed with a few of his points. You're on target to match Burnley's 54 points last season...

Do you genuinely think you're going to follow a path of progression that has you bettering the season before each time? You have no idea of the challenges you will face over the next few seasons cause you've not been in a position like this for decades. When the top clubs come calling for players like Neves he will leave and the same for any other of your in demand players.

Thoroughly deserved victory yesterday against an Everton side that's been awful for 2 months, but 38 points from 25 games isn't anything to write home about. Getting to 7th, whilst a decent achievement, has been done by the Burnleys and Southamptons in recent seasons. You are miles off the top 6 and regardless of your owners desires, breaking in that group is a huge ask.

At the moment your setup is great and you are right to be optimistic. You will very much be "making up the numbers" once you've been in the league for a few seasons in my opinion.

I don’t get the need for opposition fans to register and comment on fans forum such as these and yet here I am (as a Wolves fan) doing the same thing so call me the biggest hypocrite going!

If I want to hear fans waxing lyrical about my team then I’ll go to my own Wolves fan forum. I think it is naive to expect that on the back of a resounding defeat opposition fans to say how good the other team was. They (you) are more likely to highlight how poor your team was rather than praise the victors, it’s a fact of life.

I wonder how well prepared you were pre-season? If I remember correctly you played rather weak opposition and beat some team 21- 0. You then unluckily drew at Molineux but have hardly got out of 2nd gear most of the season. Your talented players have accrued enough wins against a distinctively average division this year and comfortably sit mid table but clearly and quite rightly this is not good enough.

From the outside looking in Everton don’t seem to have a style or identity. I know how Nuno is going to set up Wolves week in week out but it appears that Silva and Everton fans haven’t a clue. He’s been there long enough to develop a style system organisation that all players buy into and it’s desperately poor that he hasn’t been able to. Something needs to change quick otherwise you’ll no longer be “the best of the rest” to just bang average.

One crumb of comfort for you guys yesterday was that you scored the goal of the game - wow, an absolute cracker!

Not really fussed what Southampton and Burnley did in recent years, they don’t have the vision and means of our owners to challenge the big boys.

The attitude of most in this thread is the top six is a closed shop - that’s exactly the reason you are where you are. Did Man City and their owners think the same ten years ago? No, they rolled their sleeves up, showed ambition and were willing to back up their ideas. I wouldn’t expect fans of opposition sides to fully understand what we are all about and where we aspire to be, but google can help you out.

You can carry on with your attitude, we’ll carry on with ours and have a good go at it. Will we succeed, who knows? But we’re going to have a hell of a journey finding out.

Joey66, Sorry I don't know how to get onto forum without you being there. Anyway, Last week or week before, one of your photos had me thinking,
The one with Joe Mercer, Matt Busby and a third ex-player manager. Now I can say with certainty that the 3rd player was Don Welsh (Ex Charlton
player and played in the "Burst Ball Cup Final at Wembley" in 1947. Don Welsh went on to become RS manager in the early 50s, he must have been a nice guy to have friends like Joe & Matt.

Imigine we won every game 10-0 we'd be top with a goal difference of +250. We haven't deserved anything from any of the games we've lost perhaps should have drawn V Liverpool, and have been lucky in some of the games we've won Huddersfield should of had a penalty. We've been rubbish and it's a miracle that we are still within a shot at top 7.

I agree with all of that mate. My point was more about how catchable the top 6 are. We were in a position before the derby, where even a run of modest form would have put us right in the mix. We are were we deserve to be now, there is doubt about that.

If If If ....... The top six ARE unreachable with the present staff and players at this club Better organised in every department than us.

Of course. I don't see the top 6 as that far ahead. Had we have continued our trajectory we'd be right in the mix. We didn't. What is frustrating is they could have been catchable.

Honestly steadily improving a squad is half the battle. A team can steadily improve the previous season yet still be off the pace of the progression of other teams in the league. So while the team noticeably improved so has the league dramatically and can still leave clubs easily behind with millions spent on nothing more than a top rate championship team

Pacifier from wolves...just astonishing

I see the Wolves fans are back now they've won.Listen lads you are having a great season, you beat us well yesterday and your team looks more organised and better than ours right now. But don't assume anything second season and European football are difficult things to deal with, don't get carried away because football has a way of biting you.

Not at all. History is great and should be remembered but what have Everton done in the last 25 years?

You’re in danger of becoming an Aston Villa.

It's always odd when a fan of a club that over the last 25 years (and far far longer) has been an absolute non-entity tries to criticise a club like us. Have we been successful in that time like we used to be? No, clearly - although you might want to reconsider your 25 year time frame as we won the FA Cup within the last 25 years.

But we have still been relevant to an extent. Got in the top 4, been in the top 5 or 6 several times, played in Europe, played in Semi Finals and Finals. All things that are seen as minimum requirements for a club like us and aren't even a success. You lot can only dream of doing that.
