1-2 Wolves, just don’t fancy us, especially if Baines isn’t fit. Hoping to be vaulted!

I think it could be the other way. We are probably due a loss, but like a lot of sides around us, we are so inconsistent you just dont know whats going to happen.

This is danger as coming off as some serious small man syndrome tbh.

Wolves’ owners have buckets of money and are buying some proper players with a decent manager. I think it will go badly wrong as soon as their Chinese owners either:
1. Get bored and leave
2. Fall foul of the CCP and are forced to pull their investment or are brought down for corruption charges (you’re only that rich in China for as long as the government allows it)
3. Fall out with Mendes and the quality players stop coming in.

However, to sit there and tell fans of other clubs to “know their place” is always a bit cringeworthy. Sure, Southampton et al have come and gone and given it the big one in the past, but it’s always better just to ignore them and laugh. Trying to whip out your member for a measuring contest embarrasses both participants and is always particularly prevalent amongst those across the park.

Added to which, this Wolves fan you’re so affronted by seems harmless, reasonably knowledgeable about his stuff and just interested in discussing the match and possibly have some mild banter, for lack of a less irritating word.

It wasn't really targeted at @Mugwump specifically, more their fanbase overall with him included, as I have read a number of comments online where I have seen them getting carried away. Mugwump seems to have been respectful in this thread, got no issue there.

However, he mentioned that he doesn't think they are that far away from Arsenal and Man Utd. I'd argue that's utterly delusional with them being 12 and 10 points behind already and that gap will be bigger at the end of the season. I've argued this point with our own fans who've claimed similar about us.

I don't think it's small man syndrome to point out they need to earn the right to see themselves as equal to a club like us (club not team). I think they have a few seasons to go to even be on the level of a Bournemouth in the current era, who have established themselves now for 4 seasons. It's looking good for Wolves to do at least that, but breaking in to the top 7 or 8 consistently will be a big ask, let alone getting above Utd and Arsenal.

I agree it will be pretty even, just think Wolves have a lot of confidence at the minute.

A lot of my family are Wolves fans so I’ve always had a soft spot for them, but you would think you are Barcelona the way they go on now!

This is the sort of game Silva needs to win to get the fans’ faith back. The sides should be quite evenly matched. It would be nice if he could show some tactical intelligence to get us the win. Unfortunately, i’m not sure that he’s got that in his locker.

I will be happy if they are all up for it and put a 100% passionate and committed effort in for 90 minutes whatever the scoreline. They have not done that many times this season and not at all since November.

Do that and we will have a chance against any team.

COYB's !!!

Wolves capable of been very poor on occasions as well. Losing to Cardiff and Huddersfield and drawing with Shrewsbury.
We should not fear Playin them.
But we have not played well in a while.
Need to see a much improved performance. Fans need it. But so does the manager

In some ways Wolves have been a 'sleeping giant'...a tag used to describe a club whose reputation is based on former glories(a bit like us). So in some ways its possible to understand why their supporters think as big as they do,and have high expectations(a bit like us?). Their glory days however, were in the early 1950s when they were playing the likes of Honved at Molyneux...Wolves were one of the earliest teams to take on European opposition. So they've been out of their glory years for a lot longer than Everton. So the slightest little hint of success leads them to expect much more.

As the teams stand right now, i dont see us or you being that far away from United, Chelsea or Arsenal tbh. I cant speak for you in terms of what you need as a team as i dont watch you week in week out, but if we could upgrade 3 players in our side ( probably in defence ) and they fit with our ethos and system, i think our first 11 would be a match for them. Arsenal i dont think are that great at all, we should have beaten United and Arsenal already. We have thrown away quite a few points either through being a bit naive or just not being clinical enough, Leicester, Brighton, Arsenal and United away spring to mind as games we have played well enough to win and either lost or drawn. Thats another 10 points better for us if we were a little bit smarter. I'd personally like us to bring in a couple of players like Moutinho who have that experience and know how to raise the standards at the club. Having winners at a club rubs off on other players.

Almost at that level :D
