Ossie scored 4 goals. Cahill got 10. Stick with 4-4-1-1 or play Osman out wide if you really want him in the side. It would be madness to leave Tim out though.

People said we would suffer when Pienaar left because a lot of our good play came down the left hand side.

We didn't because its not always as simple as it seems on the surface.

Take Cahill and his goals out, add player x who will improve the team and help other players score Cahills goals plus more.

Hopefully.

But Ossie's role also coincided with Saha and beckford scoring loads more than they did with Cahill in the side. The best midfielders create goals for others by controlling the game and making sure the ball is in the mixer. Osman can do that when played in the middle. Arttea can do that when not partnered with fellaini. Cahill simply can't, it's not in his skill set.

Decent first half against a sloppy side. First 20 mins sheer class. Bainsy and Billy connecting well, Big Vic with an completely unexpected classy touch, Rod´s passes been 1st class. Vellios looks lost though, despite one classy touch. Coleman also looks lost as right back.

DC won't sell just yet due to his age. And honestly, he's still developing and should stay in MLS another 1-2 years, he's still streaky. When his contract is up, I expect him to go for $$$$. MLS is very aware of the treasure they have in him and he won't go for less than $8 million is my guess.

You know MLS better than I do, but I would expect more $$. Jozy went for $10M so I'd think at least that......

No he was not to blame directly.

But the formation was. The formation centered around him.

And the "we should have all our best players on the pitch at the same time" approach is so naive I'd slap my 13 year old brother if he said it. That's like something you'd say if you were making a team on FIFA.

Don't be ridiculous. The manager's job is to find a system that accommodates and suits his best players. So you're going to leave out a player who has been either top scorer or second top scorer for us in every year that he joined the club and replace him with a player who has had one purple patch in 10 years and never scores more than about 5? Ossie wasn't even amongst the top-assist providers last season.

Yes to both of these. Najar has had some good time by himself - better teams would punish Seamus for that.

Vic had an excellent first half - color me wowed!
