Everton Youth Teams Thread

Delial Brewster has signed his first professional contract. Anyone know what he is like?

As an under 16 he was very promising. You would regularly hear that "everton had won 6-1 and Brewster got 3 etc". Against Chelsea he scored all 4 goals.

However last season he wasn't playing much. I'm not sure if he was injured or just fell out of favour. He is a quick striker and a real poacher. He needs to kick on next season.

Contract news today is like a who's who of players whose names I know off FM but have never seen play a single minute of football.

Hope they all turn out boss.

Peter Cavanagh joins Everton's coaching staff from Southport
Peter Cavanagh has retired from football and left Southport just two months after signing for them to join Everton's coaching staff.

The 33-year-old midfielder had agreed to move to the Sandgrounders on a player-coach role for the season.

He will take a role coaching the academy at the Premier League side as part of Roberto Martinez's staff.

"I'm obviously disappointed to lose Peter but I understand his decision," said Southport boss Paul Carden.

.....if it's the same bloke, there is a clip on You Tube of a 'horror tackle' committed whilst he was playing for Accrington against Exeter (be good if somebody can upload). Also, received a ban for betting on Accrington in that incident a few years ago. Might be a really good coach but not sure if this type of background does the clubs reputation much good, particularly in recruiting youngsters.

You know who i miss and I think Everton missed...

Mustafi.

That kid has been on fire in his career since leaving on a free. I think his time with the youth academy was misused. Silly Moyes.

I still maintain that if Delo had gone out and had the exact same performance as McAleny did in the Europa League, all the positivies would have been praised and all the negatives forgotten

His performances are scored under a different criteria though, which I think is unfair

So much potential there

......but I suspect Deulofeu wouldn't have put in a similar performance to Mcaleny.

@JamesYates_: Dream come true to sign my first pro contract with Everton for two years, hopefully first of many! Big year ahead for club and country...

@JamesYates_: For club firstly and country too with the World cup in October in Chile to look forward to and win!

Of course its a different criteria, Gezza is a player we know has talent, McAleny is now 22 and has scored a grand total of 2 career goals so far, at some point, you have to ask yourself, what potential.
