Not sure, dont know a lot about youth teams. Just remember someone saying 2 of our best youngsters were looking to be off.

Yeh they were 2 rumoured to be off.
Lawrence has been posting videos still in his Everton gear this summer, could be meaningless though.
July 1st is when the new batch of 16 year old Scholars join. It’ll likely be weeks before our club get around to issuing names and we know for certain if they’ve joined . On a positive note , both are highly regarded , particularly Samuels-Smith, if they were about to sign for another Academy there‘d likely be rumours around outside the club. I’ve seen the RS and other clubs linked with a few promising 15/16 year olds but never seen our two mentioned.
Given their promise , the fact that Lawrence has played u23s already, and Samuels-Smith is an England regular , they are the types who when we offer a Scholarship we usually give a guarantee of a Pro-Contract on their 17th birthday to. Whether they accept either offer is another matter.

I have seen on another forum that Lawrence has gone to Man CIty and Samuels Smith has signed for Man United don't know if it's true or not but we will probably find out soon, disappointing if true especially if we don't get any money for them.

…I really like what I’ve seen of Samuels-Smith but it’s a sign of the times that youngsters will look to cash-in on their talent & I can’t really blame them for that.
Hopefully he signs a deal with us.

I'd have liked to see him starting LB in the U21's next season, despite his age, alongside Campbell and Welch. Really start to push kids up.
Indeed disappointing if true, Samuels -Smith would have caught their eye in the Youth Cup match we lost to United. United are also rumoured to be poaching Spurs ‘ England u16 left back Jayden Meghoma, according to reports. He played in the same England team as Samuels-Smith, it’s crazy in a way that they can hoover up the best English talent.

I've read these clubs can't raid the continent for under-18 players anymore so they're intensifying their domestic activities.
Ethan Nwaneri has played in the same England youth teams with Samuels-Smith & Meghoma. Arsenal struggling to keep him apparently.
