Everton Youth Teams Thread

A very satisfying 3-1 win , so on aggregate with the U18s we win the weekend 4-3 . That must be very pleasing for Unsy , all the goals from our younger players, quite a young side at this level for a derby game and moving us up the table.

Really good to see a lot of defenders making their way through.

Anyone see Holgate today? Any good?

From the Echo's mbm of today's U21 game

"‘75 Excellent centre-half play by 16-year-old Morgan Feeney for Everton. The Bootle lad stormed from his position on the edge of the area, read the play, intercepted a pass and then showed grit and bravery to follow it up with a perfectly timed slide tackle to keep Everton in possession. Won a free-kick for his troubles."

It's must be longer then18 months as ibe and sterling were bought like this

They were bought for bigger money around 15.

The premier league elite performance plan means 8 year old signing contracts have buy out clauses now which is set by the FA automatically. Its only about 10k for the first year, 30k the next etc but once you get to 11 or 12?its already getting high as it seems to be trebling each year.

They're not arsed about 6, 7, 8 year olds and getting into scouting battles anymore as they were losing them anyway. They're trying to cherry pick them from the clubs once they've seen them before there fees go too high. Get them after watching them for 2 years in the system, playing at that level.

Just back from the game. Think that's the best I've ever seen our Reserves play.

Battered them, could easily have won by 4 or 5.

Tom Davies stood out for me. Love his fighting spirit and will to win. Boss tackler. Definitely one to watch.

Love Tom's attitude whenever I've watched him.

How was Kenny, his mentality has similarly impressed me.

Jon-Joe was really good at the back too. To be honest, they all played well.

It was so funny, the game was held at Saints rugby league ground, supposedly LFC U21s home base, yet when we scored, three quarters of the fans there jumped up/cheered.

What position does Tom Davies play?

How were Feeney and Holgate?

Did Holgate stand out at all? Wss thinking he could be back up to Coleman soon (in a similar way to Stones/Galloway/Browning playing full back).

Cheers for that, good to get feedback from someone at the game. I was saying yesterday that Davies would have made a big difference to our U18 midfield against their u18s , at 17 it's great to see him performing so well at u21 level. He's looked impressive in the DM role when he's captained England U18s and reminded me very much of Ledson at that level.
