Everton Youth Teams Thread

That's right mate about the private education.

We send our kids to Wade Deacon, a normal school in Widnes, Liverpool send there to Rainfall High in St. Helens. Man City send there's to St. Bedes where they used to play there academy games, 30k per year to go there.

I am not too sure about the older kids, I only no in debth what's happening with the younger age groups but I'm still adamant that the individual is better suited being at United or Everton than City were there's more of a focus on developing them and not the team.

United literally don't care at all for results and if they had there way wouldn't even play competitive football, it's all about the needs of the individual.
Maybe some of the parents know the odds of their kids breaking through to the top level are slim so they figure they might as well get a free education and some money? Unfortunate from a footballing standpoint though

That's exactly it mate, it's all good saying you'll pick the best club for your kid to develop but in reality there's a 1% chance of that happening so it's literally impossible to refuse the figures City will pay and the education they're prepared to provide.

Any parent would go there for the money at that age and you can't blame them.

surely if parents see city stockpiling all these young kids they most know the chance to break through is going to be diminished there.

But sure how many adult players would you see moving to clubs like chelsea or city when every man and has dog knows they wont get many games.money talks and sense walks im afraid.

They get rid of them as quick a they sign them mate, for everyone who goes in, 1 gets released. They have a sad of about 17 at every age group.

The figures are that much it's virtually impossible to say no.

If we do indeed have an 11 year old rumoured to be leaving us for City I just hope we do enough to make stealing players from us more difficult than other teams. In other words we can't outspend City but we can make ourselves a harder team to poach from which might if nothing else give them second thoughts on stealing our players. Most of these decisions on youth players are massive guesses -- they might as well guess on someone from Spurs instead if they know we cause them huge headaches when they try to poach ours.

City are a billion pound corporation that doesn't care about anything but it employs human beings who are fragile, insecure people. Make the lives of the people who do the job miserable and they take their oil money elsewhere.

We don't have the money; if we aren't playing dirty we aren't playing at all.

How could we do that though, it's impossible to stop unless you offer more money.

The fees they have to pay are nothing to the clubs.

Until they are 12 they can't sign kids who live over a certain distance away, ie: City can't poach from Tottenham just yet.

Interesting info, guaranteed private education would be a huge draw to lots of parents, especially given the odds of any kid making it as a professional.

Just seems a bit odd that some of the kids of ex Manchester players, like Neville and Fletcher, who you'd think wouldn't need the extra financial help and would be better placed to judge a good academy than "normal" parents, reportedly go to the City academy than the United one. Could be individual circumstances involved though.

Probably something similar to us and the other lot would it.maybe they just feel like the kids are treated better and looked after better.talking 2 rs from down through the years and most would say that they would send their kids to our academy because their looked after better there.

Someone on Twitter I think his user name is englandyouth or something. He sometimes tweets about their academy being good.

Joe Williams in the U21 match against Newcastle this week.
There's a nice quote from Unsworth along the lines of they hadnt practised it in training they did it off their own bat, maybe it was off the cuff with Dowell to Charsley , Charsley getting a call from Williams and dummying it. Whatever, it was a well worked goal and a great finish.
