So lads if we do get taken over what do ye reckon will happen our academy?i really hope we dont go down the route of buying in players from all over the world and that we stick with what we are doing now and that is supporting and developing young local talent.
If we have more money to spend will make it even harder for young lads to break through?

I would really hope so eggs......I think the academy was one of the attractions for the new buyer.
Ya exactly.really hope it doesnt tip the balance.we have shown we more than hold our own and go beyond that with local talent when we are up against the citys, utds and rs of this world who bring in heavily from around the world.Id like to hazard a guess it will be a bit of both - we will probably have more finance available for youth recruitment while still having a heavy focus on local talent.
Mixing in some of Europes good youth talent in with our local lads can only be a good thing, so long as it doesn't tip the scales the other way. I would love to be in for some of the worlds best youth players to mix it up with our academy

That letter to the Arsenal board that he cosigned with Usmanov mentioned how they wanted to buy players that could go straight into the first team to complement the longstanding tradition the club had of bringing their own players through from the academy. I actually think Moshiri will invest in the academy, probably starting with buying it outright and then building the accommodation that Martinez was talking about ages ago.So lads if we do get taken over what do ye reckon will happen our academy?i really hope we dont go down the route of buying in players from all over the world and that we stick with what we are doing now and that is supporting and developing young local talent.

The obvious difference next season if the investment is made in players will be expectations, the pressure on Martinez to get a trophy / top four place will be enormous . The chances of throwing in a youngster or two will be diminished , not just by incoming players but by the need for results. Having said that , City, Utd and Liverpool have all pitched in more youngsters in recent weeks than we have done.So lads if we do get taken over what do ye reckon will happen our academy?i really hope we dont go down the route of buying in players from all over the world and that we stick with what we are doing now and that is supporting and developing young local talent.
