Hard to know but i would doubt it.would really like him to have a full pre season with the first team i.e.plays most of if not all games and see from there.i dont think he has been out on loan yet so don't if that is the plan they will have for him first.

We know that all the youngsters have their own "Plan" which as you say usually includes a spell on loan, and it has been argued that in the past we pitched youngsters in too early , youngest PL players etc. Sometimes you need to diverge from the plan if the young player and circumstances permit . Man U seem to have pulled a couple of players from u18 level as well as u21 level into their squad /team of late due to their circumstances. Trouble is we have a large squad with some experienced bench warmers ahead of him.... and of course the game before the semi is the derby . Though actually of all the youngsters Dowell appears to have the best temperament for a derby , I suspect Walsh/Ledson/Davies/ Williams would be on the early yellow card side of competitive. I'm scared to think beyond the semi at the moment ......

Hahaha i fully imagine that if Ledson played he would go in full pelt like he did in the mini derby a few years ago and left one of theirs crumbled. Though tbh, we haven't been enough snide in the derby for a while and always seem to be on the end of them challenges, be nice to have some blue blood in the squad knowing what a derby is.

Yeah think that was the U18 derby where Ledson got booked for that early on, then Joe Williams got sent off for a horror tackle later!

I wouldn't dream of starting him in the derby especially at there place but maybe would be nice to see him on the bench for the last few games and depending how we are going maybe to get a few minutes at the end of a game.
Like i was saying i would like him starting all our games pre season with a view to maybe having him on our bench for next season but with our sudden injection of money we dont know who our transfer targets are going to be so he might end up going through the loan system next year.

Ya fully convinced the carragher and gerrard combo won them a heap of derbys down through the years just because it meant so much to them not to lose whereas we struggled in that regard.

Yep, a case of be careful what you wish for. If we strengthen and it means likes of Dowell going on loan for a year I can live with , just don't want us doing a Chelsea/City buying up best youngsters just to stockpile them in loans to other clubs and excluding our own home grown youngsters who could be developed into money saving good squad players....... or better.

Exactly @blueloon that is my nightmare.would be absolutely disgusted if we went down the city/chelsea route.all we need is compliments to what is already there.
