Everton Youth Teams Thread

Anyone who follows regularly the 18s/21s know who the next player to break through would possibly be?

I watched the 21s vs Sunderland last week and I wasn't overly impressed. I thought Rodriguez looked lively and clever playing just off front man. Pennington was solid and will at least make a football league side. Galloway was very poor on the night putting it down as an off day as I've seen him much much better in the first team.
Other than that there wasn't a Rooney or Barkley in the making not even close

unrealistic to expect that to happen often - rooney and barkley coming through were about a decade apart themselves and that was a pretty small gap in comparison.

Dowell is the one. Going to be one heck of a player that lad.

Think I recall @The Esk mentioning that there were set dates we could buy it back and iirc one was coming up soonish - next year??

Not sure I've entered the FF debate previously but the original lease signed by Everton in 2007 gave Everton an option to acquire FF every 5 years.

When LCC acquired FF in 2013, the land registry documents did not suggest any significant changes to the lease, so the assumption must be that the 5 year option (next available in 2017) still forms part of the agreement. We know the LCC offered favourable rental terms.

My guess would be JonJoe Kenny, currently on loan at Oxford although he could go onto another loan next year at a club at a higher league. However with Hibbert likely retiring and our other RB backups being really CBs just getting experience at fullback rather than long term RBs think there is an opening for him as a long term Coleman backup as although he has played all over the defence he probably is too small to make it at CB.

Mature level headed lad despite only being 19 and he's both captained the U21s and had high level England experience (took the winning penalty when England U17s won the Euros)

...I think we have a number of players who will make a considerable living out of the game. I'm disappointed with our FA Youth Cup performance because that is always a reflection of having a 'top' individual or decent team. Managing expectation we might have none who can make the massive step up.

Probably not the right thread, but look at the state of Jutkiewicz record at Burnley:
