Was reading an article in the paper and it mentioned the impact of the EU leaving. And there was a bit about a young Finnish striker Mirko Virtanen? Anybody know anything about him?

Yes at Left back and I mean as of tomorrow if I were picking a team. Galloway may well go onto be a better player but Garbutt looks for more advanced in that position from when I've seen them.

...I was amazed Garbutt signed a contract last season, I'd convinced myself he was off on a Bosman. He looked good enough for a Premiership manager to take a punt but the reality is that he's disappointed this season. Personally, I was very impressed with Galloway and would certainly have him ahead of Garbutt in the pecking order.

The best thing about signing Garbutt is that we can get a fee for him, I think there will be takers.

If you could have garbutts crossing and getting forward talent mixed with brendans defensive qualitys you would have a serious player.

Yeah you'll find him in the U18 section of the official site, he stands out in any pictures as being small and white/blonde hair. Has now moved up to become a 2nd year scholar , so probably 17 now. I don't think he made a start for the u18 s last year, think he was on the bench a few times and disappeared completely at the start / first few months of season suggesting he'd picked up an injury. Think he's a Finnish u17 international, thought he was a midfielder not striker but may be wrong and my one sentence summary would be hasn't made any impact at all so far at u18 level , maybe held back by injury but one more season to prove himself .

Indeed, I see Liverpool had a £7mill bid rejected by Leicester for their England u21 left back Ben Chilwell who I don't think has any PL games to his name. He's worth holding onto to see what Koeman can do with him and if not maybe an exit in January to a PL club fighting off relegation and needing a LB .

with this EU vote looks like we'll have some competition now for best local youngsters. vermin can't snap up foreign kids for their academy any longer.

i think that was the problem with galloway last year,great at getting forward but looked pure lost when he did but thats something im sure can be worked on although i think i would like to see him move over to cb from now on.

...possibly, but I'm not sure he has the size/bulk to play CB. We'll see if his quality makes up for the lack of physicality.

Ya you can always bulk up gym wise and he looks a tall lad to me.i think he could make a decent centre half.has he been mostly playing centre half up through the ranks?

....he has, and at international level.

I'll be honest I'd sort of forgotten about him when thinking about squad changes this summer. Just because he disappeared for the second half for the season. Another player to really look forward to the development of - he must be buzzing about Koeman coming in.
