My take on Holgate: quality wise he's a step above U21 league but nowhere near ready for the first team. Championship/League 1 loan required.

i would have pennington in there as well.was impressed with him last year when he played. So it's seems that these players are ready for next season
Tom Davies
Galloway
Mason holgate
Dowell
And should be subs and in around the team.
Plus browning who is 22 should play more
Agree , he's ahead of Holgate for both CB and RB cover.i would have pennington in there as well.was impressed with him last year when he played.

Indeed , and to Everton too. I see Liverpool "lost" Jerome Sinclair a 19 yearl old forward toWatford for £4mill yesterday as he was out of contract, same with Rossiter who moved to Rangers earlier. We can't keep all our promising players , some will chose to take a chance elsewhere , but Davies is a standout player who should be tied down for at least 3 years with a contract that properly rewards him if he plays PL games.......negotiating a long-term deal which is very important for the young man.
Seamus coleman?Kenny and Connolly put in performances better than coleman has in 2 seasons.

Personally I see Pennington as RCB cover and Galloway as LCB cover, I think JJ Kenny and Browning are considered emergency cover for RB ?
Happy to see Davies get a new deal, I think the ITV pundits hinted at how teams these days don't let players grow as a group in the U21's and such. We should be making every effort possible to bring through 3-4 players together and integrate them in the team. As mentioned earlier by someone, they may just fancy their chances elsewhere, maybe two or three loans to Rotherham under Stubbs may be the alternative if the players wish to leave on loan ?
Both of these aspects worked well last season ,though some bits not so well. Playing regularly together in the u21s certainly helped Davies and Williams and also Dowell. Kenny, Pennington and Connolly all benefitted from loans to the extent that they came back into playing in the PL , however briefly for some. Yet some of our loans looked odd, particularly the non league ones and players like Henen and McAleny didn't stand out enough to make you think " wow , he's going to be PL material".
The reality is that some youngsters won't make it whether they stay or are loaned. It would make sense for Koeman to keep most of them together at least until January so that he can asses what he's got for the first team squad, then allow loans. For some he should quickly be able to determine who needs a loan and who would benefit from u 21 development e.g. Brewster, Broadhead, Holland will provide a surfeit of attackers at u21 level, some will have to move on either permanently or as loans.
I thought I remembered seeing somewhere that youth loans have to be fairly long-term ones as from next season.Pretty much agree with the majority mate, I just hope we don't continue with these one month loan deals, either 12 months or 6 months would be better. Not sure how long the loan deals for our young players were last year, but I think that those short term loans are a waste of time.
