HT 2-1

France have dominated since 25-30 mins on the clock. Connolly, Rossiter and Ojo (first 10) have been our most consistent players. Kenny has been getting terrorised a little but managing against a very highly rated French winger from Monaco. Not impressed whatsoever by the two English centre halves though; very poor so far. The front 4 (Brown, Solanke, Ojo, Onomah) are a pack of individuals and seem to be over complicating things thus far.

France have a very talented squad so this is a good scoreline so far but we've been poor towards the end. Rossiter needs more help in the middle and no one seems to be covering the full-backs when they move up the field which is odd since they've been instructed to overlap as we have inverted wingers on.

I was just going to say that about the commentating and Connolly. The German commentator didn't think Kenny was all that either. ("He should have been quicker to that ball" - ignoring the fact that he had held his run and was still offside.) You'd think England deserved to be 0-5 down at half-time listening to him.

Kenny looks a bit slow one on one against the quick French players but has not had a bad defensive performance - bit Hibbert-lite if you like. On the French goal he was covering the other player and not the one who scored who should have been the central defender's.
Connolly has generally been fine.

Worst players imo are Rossiter and the other central midfielder. The captain Moore doesn't impress me either. Thought the best player was Solanke.

I thought Rossiter looked okay; plenty of bite which is needed but think Maitland-Niles is out of position. Agreed on Moore though he's been terrible.

Haha yeah he's quite fickle. He was singing England's praises at the start. Yeah I agree the 2 CMs don't do much and solanke looks good. Onomah and brown not having great games, though I think they're generally highly rated. Could be wrong though. Taylor Moore looks very shaky.

Thought Kenny did ok. Can't really blame him for the goal. It was a very improvised effort

Solanke has usually been excellent when I've watched him, hopefully Conte is a bit better at using the Chelsea youngsters than previous managers.
