Everton Youth Teams Thread

Yep. He seems a decent footballer but as soon as Ronny Koeman was given the dosh he went after another midfielder. He's behind at least six other players in there now.

Good luck to him. He'll have a great career elsewhere
6? Morgan, Davies, Barry, Gueye, McCarthy, who's the 6th? We have to keep him. He's the missing piece of the all-scouse second coming of the holy trinity. I'll rage if he goes.

I think this summer will be significant for a lot of the kids who are on the verge of the first team squad, Kenny, Walsh, Dowell, Pennignton, etc. Koeman undertook a massive clear out in January, a few more will go this summer I'd imagine leaving us quite light in terms of numbers. Numbers appear strong in centre mid but both McCarthy and Besic have really struggled with injuries and Barry is in the twighlight of his career so space may open up for Walsh and Williams who has just had a new contract, particulalrly when we have Eurpoa League football hopefully. They may get a chance in the early qualifying rounds in July, if they do they need to grasp it with both hands.

We need to make 2, 3 or even 4 major signings who can go straight into the first team, and then bulk up the squad. Kpoeman has shown he isn't afraid to play youngsers who take their chance so some of these lads may well get a decent go in pre season.

He'll need some pretty rapid transfers for that to happen. It's not beyond the bounds of possability he might get a jump straight to the Premier League but I think it'd have to happen soon. Once this lads get past 20 their is always a new bright young thing jumping the queue, have a look at the lad at Derby, Will Hughes, he's been linked with Premier League clubs, namely the other lot, for 2 or 3 years but at 21 is still playing Championship football. His best bet is probably a move to a team at the top end of the Championship

...although he trains with the first team I can't recall him being in a match day squad. I notice he wasn't taken on the recent break to Dubai so I fear his chance of getting a game any time soon is unlikely. Shame, he's a smashing footballer but this is the reality.

obviously we all hope the schnederlin injury isnt too bad but it might open up a door for walsh to make his debut in next 8 weeks. quite similar players and at least he can run unlike barry.

Besic and Barry should be booted out in the summer and Walsh given some time in the EL earlier rounds/group stages if we get some easy ties.

Can see Mccarthy going though for more game time but I would keep as he's a good squad player to have.

Besic has the ability to be a top player for us,and will be given next season to prove it . Likewise Barry will remain a useful member of our squad next season for all his age he still has the experience. Walsh's chance to stake a claim will more than likely come at the expense of McCarthy who's hamstrings are beginning to look permanently broke, sadly.

Besic has done absolutely nothing to suggest he has the potential to be a top player and he's just as injury prone as Mccarthy. The fandom the lad gets bemuses me tbh. Barry will see out his final year but I don't think he should if we have any ambition.
