Everton Youth Teams Thread

...I did post that there was real interest from Championship clubs in the lad. I also posted that the club might 'reluctantly' agree to let him go if the player wants to leave. There are a number of players ahead of him in the queue and the attraction of regular first team football elsewhere might just be too much of a pull.

Disappointing as it might be, a move could happen.

I do wonder if we might do Barca and let him go but with several buy back options?

Besic has done absolutely nothing to suggest he has the potential to be a top player and he's just as injury prone as Mccarthy. The fandom the lad gets bemuses me tbh. Barry will see out his final year but I don't think he should if we have any ambition.
Besic has had wretched luck with injuries, but you worry if he tried to implement the high tempo pressing game that koeman demands, what effect that would have on his body.

So you've never seen Besic play really well?

I've seen him have one top drawer game against Man City last season and the odd decent showing, I've seen Mccarthy put in better performances more consistently and both are as injury prone as one another.

If I had to keep one it would be Mccarthy every day of the week, unless for financial reasons when we could provably fetch £15 million for James whereas I doubt we would get more than £5-6 million for Besic.

Conversely I have been very impressed by Besic , offers far more offensively than MacCarthy for me. His injuries have been unfortunate rather than congenital. MacCarthy on the other hand has laboured with a apparently recurring and unsolvable hamstring problem. I should add that I would like both of them in the squad like.

Back a few pages mate , but this morning, Ledson got EFL Young player of the month award and recalled to England U20s. He spwaks well in the interview.

Well done to him and just seen. Always liked Ledson and he captained our under 18s title winning team so will always have a special place at Everton. I hope
He does well and someone was sensible enough to have inserted a buy back clause.

It's odd really, Davies has done brilliantly (and every indication suggests he will have a better career than Ledson) but there's a lot of sliding doors moments there and I sense he kind of took Ledsons spot a little.

Besic has the ability to be a top player for us,and will be given next season to prove it . Likewise Barry will remain a useful member of our squad next season for all his age he still has the experience. Walsh's chance to stake a claim will more than likely come at the expense of McCarthy who's hamstrings are beginning to look permanently broke, sadly.

He has shown nothing even remotly close to bieng a top player. McCarthy had a full season of being a monster....and still wont get back into our current midfield.

He ran the game in the home leg of the Man City cup semi final in a way McCarthy never could. I like McCarthy but he is limited on the ball & hides from it cracking player particularly in a team
Who don't covet possession.

Besic time probably gone with us but to suggest he showed nothing is a bit harsh
