Is that the "star player" who can't defend, which I agree with btw
I'm glad he's gone. But it should have been in the context of us having already secured his replacement and also having secured the type of quality needed elsewhere in the squad, not as a means of paying for a couple of bang average players.

Ashley Williams is and was recruited days later. Bolassie adds dimension to the attack and gueye the terrier protecting the back 4. We are 2/3 signings away from this being a great window. And they will come

I think we have, step forward Mr. Holgate

Apparently (not in my view like) he's one of the best defenders in Europe already (Stones). Like for like would have been the order of the day. Instead the cash went to pay for some huff and puff player from a relegated outfit and a winger who neither scores goals or provides assists.

I'm sure Stones will now be an England regular. What is like for like? I hope huff and puff continues in the same vein as his first few games.

ha ha mate are you winding people up or do you really just see the downside of everything ?
try to think positive and then if the worse does happen deal with it. At least you'll be able to smile before the inevitable happens !!

This bloke will have us sorted.

He will mate, of that I have no doubt, but it does no harm to play the PR game in an understated manner.

He doesn't have to say a word himself to do that, he just needs to brief his CEO to say something on the O/S occassionally.

Personally, I'm not really arsed if he decides to swerve the PR route and allows himself to be judged purely on what he does, but it makes good business sense to communicate effectively with the people that care passionately about the club.
