People just want to see evidence of the investment that was said to be forthcoming, but there has yet to be any.

The answer to the question as to how Moshiri will invest in the club has not been answered either. Is he loaning us cash, investing via equity or giving us free cash? Nobody knows, as there is currently no evidence of any investment having taken place.

You accused others of exaggerating the position of one side. "Most people aren't remotely near the 'he's a fraud' category, but it's taken that way. It's all a bit too precious and sensitive. Straw men are being put up to be knocked down because genuine questions appear to be unwanted or embarrassing." You said people that had exaggerated criticism to "hes a fraud" were using a straw man. Therefore you must agree with most definitions that a straw man is often taking one argument, and exaggerating it to an absurd position much easier to defeat. Then you take arguments that others used to criticize the critics, and claimed they were saying "that anyone uneasy with the situation is wanting £100M spent and a spade in the ground down the docks next week?". But no one said that, you exaggerated it to an absurd position much easier to defeat. So thats the very same definition of a straw man that you used.
And that's EXACTLY what's happening here. There's plenty of examples of posters weaponising the stadium issue and the infamous £100m war chest to pin down and attack any criticism of the current situation.

Good post mate. I can accept that logic. One thing though: Whether plans can or can't be revealed and in how much/little detail, there was no attempt to dampen down the fires of huge expectation. That could have been done with ease, but I suspect the new regime were reluctant to do that for whatever reason. Have they been enjoying the adulation a bit too much? Have those promoting them amongst other fans gone a bit too far in whipping up a fever around our short term possibilities?

Thanks mate. To be honest I think that has come from the media and the fan base rather than the club. Although you are probably right little things have been leaking from the club to help boost ticket sales etc.

If Mata and Witsel had joined we wouldn't be having this discussion now, on such fine margins we stand, the question is can they dampen down expectations if they are still trying to get them?

Yes, but in relation to taking cash out of a football club, which is the more specific charge.

I don't know that. It's speculation.

Pension pots have not been a problem and that is what the House Committee charged him with. If his affairs are ever fully investigated then you may well find out when or if they are

Then if its not okay for them to exaggerate like that, its a double standard to be okay for you to do it, and its unfair to use a straw man while accusing people of using a straw man.

nothing has changed.
we have just sold a half decent young player to finance purchase of some half decent older players.
Idrissa Gana will almost cetainly want away this time next year.
Lukaku will be a boo boy victim by the end of September.
£100 million? hahahahaha.
Everything will be the same

hi mate, why don't you sod off and support a sky 4 team, none of those complaints there hey. Unless you already do and you're an hilarious WUM.

Lots of love, arch

Is this Strawception? A strawman within a strawman into another strawman.
