People who downplay this takeover, people in the media who feel threatened and want the status quo kept the same, and who claim it's not really a takeover, etc.... they really are missing the bigger picture. Based on the fragmented nature of Everton's shareholding, based on spin to alleviate fans concerns that everything is going to change for the worse, etc.

There's various myths going around, i.e. if Moshiri does something BK doesn't like he can be stopped. To 'be stopped', it would need every other shareholder (100+) to all share the same opinion, stand together and oppose Moshiri. That is HIGHLY UNLIKELY to happen.

Moshiri is a fiercely ambitious and driven man. You do not become a billionaire by sitting in the shadows and letting others who own a fraction of your shareholding rule the roost. Sure, you can play nice (at first, and maybe all the time) and be guided by the old majority shareholder, and be shown the ropes, and win everyone's trust. But slowly and surely, you'll move your own men and confidants in. I'd imagine the first person he'll get in will be a new CEO to replace Elstone.

Things will change, greatly so over time. It is exciting times, and anyone who pretends it isn't has ulterior motives/gripes for it not to be.

Can we build a stadium in Stanley park like the RS were going to do?

That site must be available now?

This is what they had planned...

Imagine that with Blue seats and Dixie's statue standing guard at the Stanley Park gates.....wow.

A point that's not much been touched on is the possible involvement of Lord Grantchester going forward. Wonder now with different owners he will get more involved? Still owns 8% of ths club.

The grandson of John Moores, he was an Everton director until 2000 but it seems bad blood between him/his family and either Kenwright or Peter Johnson caused him to step aside. He is a genuine billionaire, the family's fortune being estimated to be around £1200 million.

This is a great point. We know that Kenwright & Woods together now own less than 19%, and the breakdown of what they now individually own will be interesting when it is revealed. It's possible that Granchester will own bigger percentage share than Woods, yet Woods will be on the board and Granchester won't be.

Which makes Granchester a potentially interesting ally for Moshiri in the future.

I thought the same for some reason. More into farming and stuff iirc.

And again, iirc, the family wealth is mostly tied up in land and estates, and trusts and all sorts. He is individually better off than most on here, but miles away from being a billionaire in his own right as it where.

I wonder how much of Grantchester's fortune is in land and therefore not accessible given it'll all be passed down to his son. Not that he couldn't raise money on the back of that of course.
