This is it entirely. The esk has rightly said ourselves and Liverpool have comparatively weak boards and we need to strengthen ours. Isn't Gilroy an Evertonian?

I think we have tentative grounds to believe that he is a blue yes.

Not that it would particularly matter, but then again we would probably be hard-pressed to attract someone from the private sector with his CV unless he had some connection with the club and wanted to help out for sentimental reasons.

If true I think it's excellent news. As I suggested previously, he will bring a much needed skill-set at a time where the club are going to be under huge pressure to deliver in the next few years, with the BMD Purchase in particular.

He should also be of help in the identification and appointment process for a new CEO/commercial director/heads of departments as and when vacancies arise. If we have successful business people on the board, they will seek the best possible appointments and not revert to the comfort zone / their mates in recommending people.
