Kenwright isn't at the helm, though. Moshiri already owns a hefty majority of the shares, reducing the luvvie to ceremonial status at best. I do agree with the general gist of your post, however, and await the day history's greatest Evertonian no longer has his grubby mitts on anything the club does.

I get what your saying completely Moshiri owns the majority. But Kenwright as the Chairman still has a huge influence of decision making at the club there's no escaping it. It would have to go through him.

One thing is for sure at 70 odd years of age he won't be hanging around out the good of his will, it will probably be for the good of his will. But yes very interesting that Moshiri is quite comfy with Kenwright still at the helm.

Outside the confines of here, I would guess that Kenwright is a well liked and well connected fixture in English football. He also represents the club to the wider world well.

So it kind of makes sense for Moshiri to retain him in that regard, harmless, but handy at times as well. Pretty media savvy is Blue Bill as well......

Not any more
Brands has total control of the footballing side
The Russian lad has control of the finances
DBB is the public face of the club
Moshiri has the final say
Kenwright is the piss stained drunk batchelor geriatric uncle who sits in the corner at family parties

Everton still seems very Kenwright esk. Not as much as we would like or have been told has changed since Moshiri.

Not any more. Moshiri, as owner, would simply overrule him. Kenwright is only one vote at the board level. Woods may vote with him, but Harris, Ryantsev and Barrett-Baxendale almost certainly would not if it meant going against Moshiri's plans

Moshiri hired Walsh and Koeman. After advice I would guess. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but at the time, their stock was high.
I think he went for who was flavour of the month tbh. Walsh was getting spoken about because of the Kante, Mahrez, and Vardy thing (although it was not actually him that scouted them) and Koeman was looking like he was building something decent at Southampton, and at first he did'nt want to leave them if you remember.

Oh I do. Like I said, hindsight is wonderful. There were few dissenting voices re Walsh at the time, but granted a few re Koeman.

There's no doubt about it he must have built strong connections in the industry just like in the theatre industry he has. But surely the wider world isn't quite wide enough for where we want to be ?

I get what your saying an advisory role etc. But would you say that's all Kenwright has been limited too since Moshiris regime started?

I suppose that scenario would solely be based upon the decision that needed making at the time or the vote that needed casting.

But lets take the stadium issue, would you say Kenwright has any say over operations ?

No. In the early days, I would guess he worked quite closely with him. Probably still has his ear, but in terms of real influence, not any more.

And how do you know that
That’s not how buisness works
Moshiri decides what has to be done and tells the others to do it
Kenwright has no say despite his shareholding
It’s why Moshiri and Usmanov left Arsenal and rocked up here
