Everton have made contact with the representative of another Portuguese coach in the form of Flamengo boss Jorge Jesus as they seek to make a change in manager following Marco Silva's poor start to the season.
That's according to Diário de Notícias in Portugal who say the Blues have opened communication channels with Pini Zahavi to possibly negotiate the hiring of Jesus who has just won the Brazilian league and Copa Libertadores.
The report claims that Jesus, 65, is expected to leave Flamengo after the Club World Cup next month and he hopes to manage a "major European club" following his success in Latin America and spells with Sporting and Benfica.
If the link is true and Farhad Moshiri has set his sights on Jesus, he would have to wait until late December before he could bring him on board, leaving Silva in place for the next five or six games.
It would represent an uncanny repeat of history for Silva — it was Jesus who replaced him at Sporting in 2015 while the elder Portuguese has a link with the Toffees in that it was his Benfica side that destroyed David Moyes's Everton in the Europa League 10 years ago.

I said Jorge Jesus several times backs in 2017 while he was still at Sporting as they were really flying. His move to Saudi was a bit odd though.

The next few weeks will decide if Mosh is a savvy business man who knows what he's doing or just guessing each day how to run a football club, if it's the latter then it's time he sold his stake

Simon Jordon has just been talking about the different (Kenwright/ Moshiri) factions pulling different ways within the club, hence the utter confusion. Kenwright should have koffed from the start, he's still holding the club back.
I don’t actually believe that. Think about it logically If Moshiri was able provide attractive managerial solutions himself then that would be the end of the matter. The likes of Moyes and Hughes wouldn’t be entertained if we had a hope of getting Pochettino or Allegri let’s say. The fact is he can’t provide quality alternatives, and because of that Kenwright has some sway. So really, the blame as it were lies with Moshiri for not coming up with options thereby allowing fault lines to emerge. The idea that Kenwright is preventing a top quality manager from being hired, which is what appears to be insinuated here, is laughable. Never heard that Kenwright had any input into the last 4 managerial hires plus Brands and Walsh - all Moshiris choices as I understand it.

Just think he has to get this next appointment spot on otherwise his own credibility will come seriously under scrutiny.

His credibility is already under scrutiny mate considering in his short time the 2 managers he chased like a stalker have both failed miserably.

Moshiri should be nowhere near our next appointment.
