Who knows? And we would have been left with Bill Whiter than White Kenwright with no Moyes to pull him out the crap. OK
You are blind mate.
Lukaku and his agent wanted him to stay at Everton IF the club were prepared to show genuine intentions of aiming for success by strengthening in order to get even better from Lukaku.
Moshiri failed to give any such commitment and so Lukaku and his agent had the decision made for them, to move away from Everton.
Join the dots mate...
We were less than 36 hours from the transfer window closing...
Brands was still trying on other targets...
The clock was ticking...
Moshiri (to use his words) wanted to make a statement signing...
The clock was ticking...
Iwobi wasn't even in the country, he was in Dubai...
The clock was ticking...
He was an Arsenal player...
The clock was ticking...
Moshiri used to be a shareholder of Arsenal and fairly regular attender at the Emirates and would have seen him play...
The clock was ticking...
Moshiri seems to think he knows a good footballer when he sees one - highly debatable...
The clock was ticking...
We paid (well) over the odds for a squad player...
The clock was ticking...
And the deal was struck and agreed with Arsenal in next to no time...
The clock stopped ticking and he'd made his 'statement signing' or so he thought.
Hindsight has proven him to be wrong, Iwobi was a statement signing but not the kind of statement that can be repeated on this forum, especially by a Moderator !!!!!
He didn't pick three number tens though did he, that was Koeman and Walsh, Moshiri's just backed his manager and Walsh, with cold hard cash. The same with Josh King, Moshiri's didn't say to Brands i want King, again he just backed his DOF with the cash to do it. But you know that don't you, just being a bit prissy due to the Benitez saga, you've turned on Moshiri's because of it and now blame him for everything. lol Getting a bit tiresome with you mate.
I wholeheartedly agree, my point is just think how we'd be doing without the cash injection. Or we could have been asset stripped by the Americans who wouldn't have put in a great deal of money as history has shown with all the others. Lukaku would have been sold for less and we would be hoping to punch above our weight continually.
What we are seeing here is toys out of the pram as less than a year ago we had Ancelotti, Allen and Rodriguez at Everton.
At Everton.
As always there wasn't a happy ending but that was not Moshiri's doing. We have been hamstrung by FFP and bad luck. That doesn't mean he hasn't made mistakes and should be completely exonerated, he probably tried to change things too quickly, but he has always backed the manager. Anyone was going to be a step down from Ancelotti, we just need to be in a position that when there is a decent manager out there, that is minimal risk and will unite the fanbase, we can secure his services.
Or we could have gone with Potter and been all out of shape at the bottom of the league by Christmas, looking for a new manager in the new year, all the while our decent players are looking for the exit. How is that going to help? Moshiri would be castigated for not stabilising the club and taking needless risks. We need a sure thing as one could be, people need to start thinking with their head and not their hearts.
You both know by alehouse I don't mean just lump it up top, I needed a word that would get round the swear filter.
It a continuation of Ancelotti's style and that is probably what appeals most to those in charge as we are not ripping up the playbook and starting again.
Our players are weak and mercenary in nature and won't want to do things such as running and pressing so defending deep and counter attacking will suit them. We need to get Europe and then keep on improving the squad so we can take on a different style that we all would like to see.
As bad as Vincent Tan.
Not even closeAs bad as Vincent Tan.
NopeWell I’d say pretty close.
I couldn’t care less about what you said in previous posts, I already know you were a casual supporter from posts long ago. I bet you still care enough to come on GOT and defend Billy Boy.I have said what I am going to do twice over the past couple of days quite succinctly with no anger or anything attached to it.
If you are genuinely that bothered about what I am going to do then have a search for it, but basically I am past caring. Do I still support Everton? Yes of course, do I care an awful lot less than I did do? Yes absolutely. I'm OK with that though too. It's a freely made choice. Nowt wrong with being more of a casual fan who doesn't let it bother me as much.
Nope
Outside of bad manger appointments, what has Moshiri done that even remotely relates to Tan?Well we disagree. Next.
