To be honest mate, the kitbag deal was the last one I was thinking about. Don't expect a massive retail outsourcing to be brought back internally any time soon.

The Umbro and Chang deals I am sure will be improved upon with Mr Moshiri's arrival and contacts. We are probably talking about multi millions we could raise from next season from these two areas alone. So there would be break clauses in all contracts of these types? It would make sense.

If there are break clauses mate, they've never been disclosed publicly.

reckon we will be hitting up the untapped iranian market??

His links to Iran will be all much non-existent I would think...

I'd imagine, based on the figures @The Esk has referenced, his first port of call will be sponsorship - either changing from Chang or getting a better deal.

£16mil over three seasons seems very small.

Not sure on that one mate!

Although no doubt proud of his ancestral roots I’m not sure that given the fact that his family were run out of town / fled during the revolution that he would have a strong wish or pull to get back in there in a big way.

Is there a lucrative market there to tap into? or is the nature of the country and the years of sanctions as well as the political uncertainty that still simmers away still a factor that means it may not really be worth any significant effort?

dunno, was just joking

I think that whilst there are LOTS for the new fella to sort out that the priority would be to sort out the Stadium issue.

That has to be the highest level Strategic issue that will undoubtedly influence every other aspect of what he may be trying to acheive. Getting that sorted and getting that strategic vision out there will be the key driver for the other aspects and it will be that vision that ultimately attracts the bigger and better sponsorship type things and further investment etc.....

Roberto's quotes from this morning:

"We are all looking forward to seeing that chemistry with the fans and welcoming a new Evertonian into the family. It is a really exciting moment to look forward to. I have not spoken to him since the deal was ratified. Nothing has been set in place in order to start that working relationship.

‘The first step was to get the approval from the Premier League, the next step is, I am sure, Mr Moshiri is going to fall in love with Goodison Park and our fans and then we will have a working relationship. It has given everyone a boost.

Martinez added: ‘There were a lot of things behind the scenes that were waiting for a little push and all of a sudden that has happened. Everyone can see the effect of Mr Moshiri arriving at the football club.

'The chairman has always been pushing to take Everton to the next level and this is the start of a new beginning and clearly that brings excitement.’

It looks like the years of stagnation are behind us. Very interesting comments.

My guess would be the bedrooms at Finch Farm will be the first ongoing project that can actually happen now.

Maybe the new boss is pumping cash in? Martinez needs results to backup his assertion of taking this club to a new level which I don't see this happening.

Yeah, a 100m a year Gazprom deal off his mate would be nice...

Would be good, but very little if no chance of Gazprom...
I know for absolute 100% cast-iron fact that contact was initiated by Everton with Gazprom two years ago, and despite pleasant and amiable discussions with European HQ based in Switzerland, Gazprom advised that their interests in football for the then foreseeable future were aligned to the CL plus their deals in situ with Schalke, Chelski and clubs in Russia.

When RM spoke about things needing a little push , I expect he was talking mostly about the new stadium.

We had no money , we needed money to build a new stadium and so we were in stalemate.
That appears to have changed with the arrival of Moshiri . I think the City Council may now see the opportunity that presents itself for them as well as the club going forward.

Regarding new sponsorship contracts etc, I don't see huge changes initially , why should there be ?
Until Everton can offer something different we are not going to get the extre monies that we want. A new owner is not good enough in itself.

I think the changes will be a lot more gradual than people expect and I am confidently predicting now the usual fume around the month of August because we have not spent extraordinary amounts on the transfer of new players.
