Good points and this summer with Sigurdsson, Delph, Kenny and Tosun out the door were probably another £300k ish better off.

I think 2024 is the year when we are fully in the clear unless there are alot of sales this and next summer of course.

I dont have twitter but do you have a link to it?

I don’t know how to post links I’m crap with things like that but that’s how it ended

£170m of losses due to covid over two years brings loses under the magic figure for sanctions.
I’m a bit skeptical this will be accepted by the PL. because, turnover last year was about £190m and the club is claiming it’s lost nearly half its revenue over a two year period.
That seems … unlikely, and (I might be wrong) much higher than other clubs are claiming.

There are actual losses, and accounting losses. Its way above my pay grade to explain the detail, but just cos you sell a player for less than you paid for him, that doesnt always mean an accounting loss.

Its more money out of the club, obvs, but for a blunt example, we wont make an accounting loss from any player leaving this summer, out of contract. But we still paid £Godknows for Gylfi.

"The starkest aspect, though, is the reliance on Farhad Moshiri's involvement. He is absolutely crucial to financial health"

Sticky Bandits: "MOSHIRI OOT!!!!!!"

oh wait

I agree and likely this summer with those out of contract and futures of the likes of Mina/Gbamin/Allan in the air.

Fans have to accept there is no quick fix to the mess Walsh and Brands have left us in. Signing average tat on 5 year deals who no bugger else wants was always going to cripple us short term.

Frankel and the new DOF need to ensure from the summer the recruitment is bang on the money and good players replace average players - only then will the accounts improve.

Thats probably about right once the £170mil (covid loss) is taken into account as well as the stadium, womens team etc etc and all the items which can be taken from the total to satisfy the £105mil maximum.

How can 170 million possibly be accounted for as a Covid loss? Goodison earns the club relatively little cash a season when full.

Absolute scandelous mismanagement of the club. Basically we're over 300m in debt, which has been covered by Moshiri's loans, like what Abramovich did for Chelsea.

The sooner he's gone the better

The problem is who is going to buy the club in such a perilous mess? And the fact we need Moshiri just to pay the bills.
