Not sure about laundering but washing yes, don't forget with washing, the money that comes out might be less but its clean money.
Problem is the days of these two crooks kicking back and chilling out in the UK are hopefully over, so they have no real incentive anymore apart from to try and maximise what they can on the stadium.
Would love too see Panorama expose them.

Stiff from shady deals tax men don't know about.
It's a high scale version of for example drug dealers buying things for cash and selling them again, it's why when you go in a casino they write down exactly what you spend and check now with the HMRC you are actually earning that much legally, if not someone will want to now you got it.

I know what money laundering is as per drug dealers in casinos etc
What I'm asking is how is his money dirty and why does he need to wash/launder it when he was supporting the regime that rules his home nation and therefore within Russian law. Not saying I agree with the exploitation of the Russian people by these arrangements but I am saying I can't see where he would need Everton to act as a Laundry

Western sanctions target these oligarchs and their billions so they can't live abroad outside of Russia. They don't like living in Russia and love living the High Life in Europe. This is why they need access to clean money. It's part of their lifestyle.

They were only targetted after Russia invaded Ukraine
That doesn't explain it at all. They had no issue converting money, investing money, spending money prior to the war
