With respect mate, you're totally wrong - the club is no longer Kenwright's, Mr Moshiri has complete control. Martinez is going, it's just a question of is it hours, days, or weeks - he and his coaching staff will be out by the season end.

Good times ahead.

I understand that @The Esk, and I know you are usually bob on with your info so I have no need to doubt what you say. I guess having watched 30 years of absolute dross makes me quite sceptical. And until these wholesale changes happen I don't think I'll be happy with EFC. Fingers crossed Bobby is gonna sooner rather than later, before it turns really nasty.

Out of the Woods?
Everton director Jon Woods had seen enough.

An hour gone, his team three-nil down, the former software developer left his seat in the directors' box at Anfield.

Where he went is anyone's guess, but it is the next move of two absent men tonight which will be pivotal.

Major shareholder Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright will have plenty to talk about in the weeks ahead.

Moshiri was represented at Anfield by his man Alexander Ryazantsev, who joined the Blues board last month. Robert Elstone was here too. Both stayed until the end.

Elstone is a veteran of these difficult nights across the park. But what of Ryazantsev, who looked shell-shocked as he left his seat after the final whistle?

A penny for his thoughts? A few more for Moshiri's?

Come on Alexander get it done.

I understand mate, sorry was not challenging you directly.

All well and good, the problem i can already see though now mate, is the situation has gone so far - with last night being the real tipping point for many blues, that every day that he stays in this job now is a mark against the new owners, we lose the semi - people will blame in part Moshiri i can guarantee they will do, yes it is all well and good wanting to ge tthe right man in place so their isn't the open speculation that comes with having a caretaker in charge, but inaction now is going to be seen by some as not caring enough - the best solution ruight now would be an instant dismissal of Martinez with no delay, the temporary appointment of Royle/Undsworth until a defined date - ie day after the last day of the season, and that alone would get any fans who are offside right back on board with the club, players, manager and board.

All well and good getting shut according to a plan they have and are following, but in business you also have to react dynamically to a changing situation, and right now the situation from when they maybe made their decision to 100% replace him has snowballed and is threathening to go completely out of control - some would argue that last night it actually passed that point.

We allow this man to take us out at Wembley when he is effectively a dead man walking, then the board actualy do deserve a huge amount of criticsm for that, it's a semi final with a weak opponent waiting in the final and against a Man United team that honetsly isn't very good, we deliberately by innaction allow that chance to be thrown away without trying to do anything that could help us - appointing Royle WOULD 100% have a positive impact at this point on the chance of us progressing - it has too frankly as we have 0% chance of winning that game and thats not me overeacting to last night, it is just being realistic at what i am seeing.

The only possible reason to keep Martinez in his job at this point a day longer is either 1. Financial, in that his contract has some form of reduced severance clause should targets not be met and it can't be invoked until the season is officially over. 2. Moshiri is someone who doesn't make a decision until he has the solution 100% guaranteed - as in he doesn't like taking any chances and wants the new manager signed and sealed before getting rid, which is IMO overly cautious. 3. The owners are compltely aware of what will happen the rest of the season and are willing to let the season turn into a disaster in order to completely destroy any opposition against replacing Martinez, as in - let it get so bad on the field that no one in the media, baordroom or supprters will have any criticsm when they sack him

If he was in charge at any other of 19 PL teams with this kind of record he would have been sacked by now. The club is clearly still not strong enough at Boardroom level to make key decisions. Been too soft for too long. Hopefully Mr. Moshiri will change that and quickly - preferably before Saturday.

It will certainly be a lot easier for Moshiri to make the changes he wants/needs whilst the fans are demanding something be done, he may well do a thorough sweep.

Roberto's incompetence does indeed make it a lot easier for Mr Moshiri to make a completely fresh start. If RM had a few more points we may have been stuck with him a bit longer before the axe fell, and valuable time would have been wasted. This way, we can start the new era with Mr Moshiri and a new manger - an exciting prospect!

(That's what I keep telling myself, anyway, before we trudge down to Wembley...)
