looking good mate, shame you lost your tie

Either way if he stays or goes there should be an announcement. What has happened to the supposed board meeting. Waiting until the end of the season leaves everyone in limbo. If he is not good enough by the end of the season he can't be good enough now. Clear the decks and the board need to stand up and come clear about what is happening.
The club never announced a board meeting so ask the papers that reported there was one. What is the point in making a public statement if they're only keeping him on until pellegrini or someone else is ready to sign on?

"Club Statement: Roberto Martinez won't manage the club next season but will be staying on until a replacement is secured."

There's nothing to gain by stating that publicly.

Club Statement: Roberto Martinez to leave Everton at the end of the season.

Done and dusted.

And what does that accomplish from a board point of view? It won't improve the atmosphere at the ground, you'll just see " In a bit clown!" signs instead of "martinez out" ones.

Relax the atmosphere, the fans can get behind the team with the safe knowledge that Martinez is gone in a few weeks, instead of absolutely no clarity whatsoever, or any kind of reassurance about the whole situation.

You wouldn't though. There would just be relief.

I respect that opinion. Just it's much ado about nothing if he just finishes the season while waiting for pellegrini or whoever to be available
