You're wrong.

Ronald Koeman wouldn't have left one selling Club that finished higher than us to join another.

Don´t know about that. Increased his wages a lot and the prospect of taking Everton from 11th to say 6th is a lot easier than taking Southampton further up than what he´s already done. Raises his profile in order to get that big job he wants.

This is something that will be sorted this year as the Chang deal concludes in May 2017.

The key for the biggest bucks is regular European participation. Therefore to get anywhere near Spurs deal (which is our most realistic target) we have to demonstrate this season our ability at least to compete for CL positions.

We´re not getting anywhere near the CL positions unless we seriously improve the quality of our squad, Koeman or no Koeman. IMHO I reckon we´ll struggle to make top half with our current squad. Only thing we got going for us are Lukakus goals.

Not for long unfortunately. We really want to hold onto him but he really wants to go. If it's true that Chelsea have bid 60 mill a month before deadline expect this to drag on.
He won't be as 'professional' as Stones and will throw a tantrum to get out. Expect stories of a transfer request being submitted. If he does leave it's going to be really hard to replace his goals.

Yeah, he´ll do everything to get his move, including throwing tantrums. And even if we did get decent money for him, how would we have time to replace him and on whom?

It's worrying as his goals would be very difficult to replace no matter the fee we'd receive.
There is one positive though. I think our chances of landing Koulibaly are low but if Stones and Lu go an understanding might be achieved, as part of the Lu deal, that Chelsea would cease their pursuit of Koulibaly thereby increasing our chances of landing him.

Why on earth would Chelsea agree to that? They´ll get Lukaku anyway.

It's not simply a case of agreeing to it. Chelsea have the budget that some imagined we had but it's not unlimited.
A massive expenditure on Lu would reduce their ability to spend elsewhere and that would in turn increase, a least a little, the odds of us acquiring a player for whom we were competing.
On a side note imagine if the hype that we're so rich we could afford Messi had been true? We'd have, like Chelsea, already spent a fortune and still be serious contenders for big names. Some day maybe if we find our own Russian oligarch.
