Financial Fair Play investigation

If ever a club (City aside, as they genuinely should be banished from the football league completely) deserved to be punished for how it's run, how it's fallen foul of the rules and how it's owners have simply neglected to do their jobs, it's Everton. Sadly.

If you're the owner of a club and you've got Chief Executives and Chairmen in, and are getting the book thrown at you for failing to stick to very clear rules, the result of which may very well see the value of your investment fall off a cliff, surely you're holding these people accountable and they're losing their jobs, right?

Just completely and utterly baffling what's going on here.

If it is related to one single transfer then the Dele Alli and Moise Kean deals seem the likely offenders. We could also have received a legitimate bid for Gordon in the summer and turned it down. If that bid would have made us compliant then there's an argument to be made by the Prem that we should have taken it.

Depends on their 3 year cycles.

But very difficult to see how they won't ever breach the thresholds considering the amount of amortisation and wage costs they will now incur on these enormous transfer fees they paid.
If they keep selling academy players for big money a la Tomori, Abraham, Guehi then they'll be just fine. Colwill and Gallagher are prime profit makers that they already have lined up.

It’s possible that we may have put the Moise Kean sale in 21/22 to improve the results because it was an obligation, but because it was a conditional obligation they are investigating whether we could claim those conditions were met. Just a guess.

If it’s one transfer it’s probably relatively technical and minor. Not sure I’m buying that theory yet though as he’s basing it off one non-club source.

There should be a whole commission setup in itself for Dele Ali and why any club is under any obligation to pay him a bean.

In a nutshell, symptomatic of everything that's wrong with modern football.

If Business Expert, Kieran Maguire says it’s down to a signing, then I feel a lot more relaxed. More so than I was already.

If this is the Premier League doing due diligence, then they will see exactly what we’ve paid for anyone, and how it has/hasn’t impacted FFP.

We’ve worked closely with the Premier League, we are run horrifically, but the idea that we’re so careless than it’s even skipped past the PL, well, not having it.

The club have either understated the value of a signing, the PL have misinterpreted it or it’s a non-starter.

Roll on 2-3 year when we’re no longer hamstrung by the ineptitude of this above us.
