Financial Fair Play investigation

If it's the Dele transfer thats set something off, have to believe there's an argument that we've not paid anything anywhere, and that the 'book value' or whatever they want to call it is not representative

Still not having any sort of points deduction. Hefty fine, possibly a transfer ban

So, we avoid relegation this season, perhaps.

We're screwed by a points deduction for 23/24 if that happens.

I guess that would be at least 6 points, maybe more. Perhaps reduced on appeal.

Either way, we're doomed from the off if Dyche & the squad have to carry that on their backs.

First season at the new stadium in The Championship.

Would that be it then for punishment or could the EFL apply their own sanctions?

No, it was bleaker than his tv performance earlier.

He was asked more pointedly here on what he thinks will happen rather than what the possibilities were.

That's food for thought.

If all this plays out we'll likely look at a points deduction of possibly 10 points.

We'll be relegated with that.

5 points MIGHT be doable.

Dont know how Maguire can draw that conclusion given the accounts haven't been released and this is a precedent.

Also its talksport, all about the drama and whipping it up isn't it.

If it is related to one single transfer then the Dele Alli and Moise Kean deals seem the likely offenders. We could also have received a legitimate bid for Gordon in the summer and turned it down. If that bid would have made us compliant then there's an argument to be made by the Prem that we should have taken it.
If we are going back to the Moise Kean summer, than the Alex Iwobi transfer from Arsenal stinks!

And, we have to ask questions about how the stadium will be completed.

Moshiri has committed funding up to the end of this year, I believe.

That leaves approx another 9-12 months of work to be paid for.

Esk was not wrong in talking about bringing in corporate recovery experts, and emergency directors.

Now is the time for that, and it would be a measure to restore confidence from the PL, where our every move is being poured over.

We could also surely secure funding for the remainder of the stadium with competent directors in place.

This is deeply concerning.

Well he's just stated that his best guess is that if found guilty we'll get a points deduction for next season.
Know Maguire is well respected but is there an element of playing to the gallery here? Seemed pretty measured on SSN but for Talksport, who we know always want extreme sound bites for their Twitter engagement, he’s chucking about points deductions. Nice little clip for them to get panic clicks from the fans, he’ll be invited back.

There’s never been a PL points deduction for this kind of thing so without precedent he’s guessing what the threshold might be.

If there's a transfer ban, wouldn't we be looking at contracts for Doucoure, Townsend and Davies.. Sort of now?!

9 points is only 3 games, if we can't muster up a 3 game run from somewhere then we deserve to be down there imo.

That would mean if we start the season with 3 consecutive wins, something we haven’t done since about 2006, then we would be on 0 points. Of course we’re going down if we get a 9 point deduction.

Maybe there would be no sanctions at all if Eveerib come down and come I to it in a compliant position.

If Everton relegated without a deduction say this year, then their 2023-24 losses would depend on the prior 2 PL ones.

If say Everton were relegated with a deduction this year and seems too late in the day then the prior 2 seasons would be reset to £35m each.

By way of example if FFP losses after adjustments were say £45m and £10m for FFP they'd be £35m and £10m which would mean Everton could lose no more than £38m in FFP terms in the 1st Championship season. (£35m, £35m and £13m).

Whereas if they were I dunno £42m and £38m, both would be reset to £35m and the Championship target would be £13m in FFP terms. All depends on prior two years, taken individually if the 'reset' principle kicks in.
